Good result yesterday, we looked totally in control. Fulham were poor but we totally deserved the three points.

My first away game of the season and the Arsenal fans were superb. Non-stop singing and we had the whole end. Without a doubt though this was the highlight, the birth of a new chant (well the first time i've heard it):

It seemed to go on forever. I'm sure it was at least 10 minutes non-stop but it could have been more. It just kept going and going.

Correct. The tune is Sloop John B. I was watching the highlights and noticed it straight away. We were singing We'll win it six times from the first CL qualifier last year so when we got to the final it felt preordained. Shame the way it turned out. -_-

Still, nice chant.

Yeah, it was still being sung on the way out of the ground. It upset the bloke sitting next to me in the match who shouted "What are we, fucking scousers now?"

I still prefer "we're on our way". How will we get there? Probably by beating all the teams we play.

The first 20 minutes were a little disappointing - I felt Hleb and Rosicky sat too narrow and deep and we had no real width. However, when Rosicky got out wide on the left, he feed Clichy who was able to put in the cross for Adebayor to put away - proper wing play = goal. The second and third goals were almost exact copies as well.

Hleb had a really good game and the team played really well as a whole. No subs either which was unusual. It would have been nice for Bendtner to get a run out.

Always a great atmosphere at Fulham in the away stand, probably because the home fans are so quiet. -_- I have to say I felt sorry for Fulham though. They were a total shambles and it's not often you'll see a five man midfield fail to keep the ball so spectacularly.

Well done to Merson.

Paul Merson has hit back at David Bentley's claim that Arsenal training was "boring" and he could not wait to leave.

The former Gunner said of the Blackburn player: "If he wants laughs he should be a comedian.

"I don't see anything funny about losing 4-1 at home to Coventry."

:)

Well done to Winterburn.

Meanwhile as Spurs prepare for their most important match so far this season tonight, it will irritate their supporters that the match does not quite have the same significance for their bitter rivals down the Seven Sisters Road.

"The rivalry between the fans has changed since I played," said former Arsenal defender Nigel Winterburn. "It has become more hostile.

"The gulf between the two teams has grown to such an extent that there is a resentment from the Tottenham supporters at how well Arsenal have done.

"If you look at how much the two clubs have spent on players, I wouldn't think there would be much difference but since the FA Cup semi-finals between the sides in 1991 and 1993, things have changed.

"Arsenal have won lots of trophies and Tottenham have lagged well behind them. At the start of the season we heard this would be the year Arsenal would struggle and Tottenham would get fourth position, but that hasn't happened. And Spurs fans hate it."

The only player i'm bothered about not being in the squad is Rosicky, looking good though

It's just him, Almunia and Clichy who have been rested totally isn't it?

I am quite nervous. I know this cup would be our lowest priority out of all four but, you know, it's the scum.

Anyway the Evening Standard, who are quite good at this usually, say this will be the team:

Fabianski

Sagna

Hoyte

Gallas

Traore

Hleb

Gilberto

Denilson

Diaby

Walcott (up front)

Bendtner

Not bad. Leaves a bench of Adebayor, Fabregas, Flamini, Eduardo and the keeper.

Even though almost everyone who is available is in the squad, looking at that team (if it is to be the starting 11) there are only 3 players who would start in a *proper game, Sagna, Gallas and Hleb.

* just to clarify why this isn't a proper game, to Spurs this the world cup final, to Arsenal this is another chance to laugh at Spurs.

A few Spurs fans at my work are crying already, like it's not fair or Wenger is cheating in some way. This morning they were giving it large but now they are shitting it.

The piss taking has started earlier than expected for the Gooners.

Well, we were pretty shit tonight and we can't make any excuses for it. We just couldn't deal with Spurs' counter attacks and boy did they make us look stupid for it.

Nowhere near the end of the world though, we've still got the F.A. cup, CL and the Prem to look foward too.

I usually stick up for Hoyte but he was fucking gash tonight, although I guess he was out of position. Diaby was also poor.

The infuriating thing is that this was pretty close to a full strength team at times. If we'd sent a team of 16 year olds out and lost like that I could take some consolation from the fact that its a learning experience for them.

Never mind, its not like we got knocked out of the race for the premiership this week.

We even looked slow at the back at times despite the fact we had Gallas and Sagna out there. Like I said, we have no excuses.

Better team and all that.

I hope this really galvanizes us as it was such a bad fucking loss. Really hope it makes the team never want to let something like this happen again. Against anyone.
