Henry's a gooner!

Barcelona's Thierry Henry has revealed that he would like to work with Arsenal again in the future.

Henry left The Gunners last summer in a £16million move to the Spanish giants, and has since conceded that he still follows Arsene Wenger's men.

And after eight memorable years for Arsenal, Henry has revealed that he hopes to assist the club in the future.

"It doesn't matter what happens with my new club, I will never find the same affection that I was shown at Arsenal, partly because I think I will never play for another squad for eight years - my legs won't let me," he told Sky Italia.

"To play for Arsenal for eight years, winning or losing at Highbury, the joy, the sadness, everything was simply incredible.

"You often return to the place that you belong and, therefore, I hope one day to be able to work with the club.

"I have the club in my blood - I always follow Arsenal when they play and I'm happy when they win.

"I'm proud to have played for Arsenal and to be a fan. Before I didn't support any club, but now I'm an Arsenal fan and it's difficult for me to not follow the matches."

The defensive triangle of Gilberto-Senderos-Djourou was laughable tonight. How Spurs limited themselves to one goal I'll never know.

I'm fond of Gilberto but really, enough now. Put him out of his misery Wenger, it's the kindest thing to do.

Djourou and Senderos are just scary. I feel sorry for Gilberto, he really looks finished.

Those three are a joke. I really hope Gallas stays fit and/or we sign a central defender.

From last night I'm not convinced about Diaby, Hoyte, Traore or Theo. van Persie was obviously unfit. Denilson was the shining light, he's a cracking little player. If only Diarra had some of his spirit he'd be in with a chance. He'd probably be neck and neck with Flamini, above Diaby, Gilberto and Denilson.

Well, I had a very cold and somewhat disappointing evening last night.

Apart from it being a nightmare to get to Arsenal, from BANK for fucks sake and kick-off being delayed, we were toilet.

1. Why was SENDEROS captain? He's a liability. I actually think he's worse than Cygan.

2. Djourou - I thought he was meant to be good? Gallas is going to have to play his nuts off to cover for one of these jokers until Toure gets back. Why can't Wenger buy central defenders?

3. We were totally toothless. Our goal was a fluke and we didn't look at all threatening until Eduardo came on and even then we only look a little bit of a goal threat.

4. Walcott was totally anonymous. On 13mins he had a good run into the box, then stopped in the 18 yard area and got done. SHOOOOOOOOOOOT! I missed the announcement and actually thought he'd been subbed so little did he contribute in the second until he popped up and scored.

5. What position was Diaby playing in? Was it left mid? Centre mid? in the hole?

6. I hate Steed Malbranque. He's a poxy, sly, cunt.

7. Diarra should have been playing instead of Gilberto. He's a solid, dependable midfielder with pace and drive. Selling him would be a massive mistake - last night showed that Gilberto is past it and Denilson is still too young to really take hold of a game and boss it.

8. When has Wenger ever made two subs at half time?

Favourite chants - to berbatov "30 million? You're having a laugh". To Defoe - "you'll be sold in the morning".

That said, our c-team held the sp*rs' first XI to a draw, so I don't know whether to laugh or cry?

If rumours are true, Arsenal will make a £3.5million profit on Diarra if he goes. Not bad for a player that only played a handful of games!

I don't think it's about making a profit, we should try and convince him to stick around as he will undoubtedly get his chance soon. I would say it's out of Flamini and him to partner Cesc, Flamini is the one in the driving seat at the moment though. Diarra is ahead of the others if you ask me.

Can't see it happening really but we need a CB as Senderos and Djourou look shit. I would play Song ahead of them only he's in Africa. Gilberto at CB is not the answer.

That seems to be the case. Paid £2m in the summer and agreed a £5.5m price yesterday (according to the papers).

I can understand Diarra wanting to play, I really can, it must be frustrating for a player to rarely play. But if he looks at the squad, Cesc and Flamini are clearly first pick, but after that Gilberto is finished (and may even leave now), Denilson is still raw, Diaby is not trusted in the centre so he is pretty much the next choice. With injuries and suspensions surely there will be enough games for him. Perhaps he is getting edgy at the thought of missing out on the France squad for Euro 2008.

Wenger said:

"Djourou was injured, Senderos is injured, Van Persie got injured. So, we had no injuries before the game started but tonight considering that we lost three players, and we lost three players in the African Nations Cup, we lost suddenly in one night six players... basically in two days - that is very difficult for us."

on Van Persie's problem...

"We have to see tomorrow morning, is it just scar tissue? Sometimes, you know, when you come back after a long time, is it just a question of two days or is it longer, we'll see that tomorrow."

on his central defenders...

"Djourou is a problem we had already at Birmingham so that means for me it came back, a groin problem, you know? Senderos, a little mid-knee ligament he got in the first half, so we'll see. We have to assess all that, I cannot tell you how long they will be out, it can be one, two days, it can be two weeks! It's difficult to assess tonight. Hoyte, Gilberto, Sagna can play in there, we still have solutions."

Bugger.

I didn't think Senderos was too bad last night, but maybe I was just comparing it to some of his previous performances or maybe Gilberto's shocking performance made him look good. Sagna at centre back could be interesting, with Hoyte right back. We shall see.

I think Wenger will bring a couple of the more senior players into the game for the next leg. He has done in the last two years in the second leg.

Hoyte was reasonable, Senderos was dodgy and Djourou was absolute shite. Gallas has got his work cut out until Toure gets back!!

Now throw "Angry Jens" into that sort of back-four mix.

There'd be murder, and that's why they're letting him go. It's a form of anger management.

"reasonable" is better than Senderos and/or Djourou.

If Senderos or Djourou play while Touré is away, you'll be looking at a repeat of a few years ago when Sol was injured and then suspended and Cygan single-handedly awarded the title to Man Utd.

I thought Diaby played well and worked hard; he was the standout player in a red shirt anyway. He is turning into a fairly effective attacking option from midfield.

Obviously Diarra is the best defensive option beyond Flamini so it would be dumb to sell him.

He's a good player on form but he wasn't anywhere near his best last night. He suffers from not being played in - or not actually having - a confirmed best position. On form the ball is stuck to his feet and his all round game is good. Off form he seems to flit about without doing much of anything. Denilson was our best player for me, I've got a lot of time for him.

Diaby gives the ball away far too much for my liking. He always holds it too long. I'm not too sure either where he should play. His physique reminds me of Vieira but there is no way his tackling is good enough for the middle.

According to Ian Wright 'the only similarity this guy shares with Vieira is that they're both brothers' ;)

He evidently signed on a promise of more regular games than he was getting with us - he actually played quite a lot last year because we had so many injuries (he's a capable right-back, too) - so I can understand his frustration. If he'd known he was just going to get a runout in the Carling Cup he might as well have stayed at Chelsea. We could do with him at the moment as well.

I presume making the Euro2008 squad is high on his agenda.

Either way, the club he's most often connected to seems to be Newcastle and I can't see him walking straight into the side there either.

That's all fair enough. But Newcastle?

Personally i didn't feel senderos played too badly, but djourou wasn't good. Gilberto was an absolute disgrace! His time really is up he doesn't do anything good for the team. For me Diaby was our best player he was constantly coming in the centre and trying to create things as Denilson and Gilberto were getting overwhelmed. It's a real shame that since his horror injury he seems scared to slide into a tackle which is partly why i think he doesn't get played in his preferred position of centre midfield. I really like Denilson but he hasn't impressed me this year, i believe this is due to the fact that he has to keep playing with Gilberto. I just wish Diarra had played and that he stays but i just can't see it.

What the hell is Diarra playing at?! 'Wasn't in the right frame of mind' to play?! So ASKED to be dropped?! What a cunt.

How is he going to get picked for France by doing that? And compared to what Gilberto said yesterday?! What a cunt.

I promise* I will never whinge about Gilberto, Song, etc again.

*Not a promise.

Senderos did play badly the other night, just hoofed it up the pitch without looking where he was hitting it, Gilberto had a poor game, as did Denilson. We seemed to lack a spark in the final third, Van Persie looked ok at first, but at the end of the half he was gone.

On a positive note though... Adebayor and Hleb to return 2moro

I will take that from Senderos. Can you imagine the grief if he tried to pass it or bring the ball out of defence?

I thought Wenger may have dropped Diarra as he sometimes does this to players who are on the brink of leaving and i'm sure he has said himself that it is because their mind will be elsewhere. I am quite suprised Diarra asked to be dropped as he would presumably have played one or both of the games this week.

This does show what a top bloke Gilberto is. Say what you like about him as a player but he has seen the captain's armband given to someone else when he seemed certain to get it, then lost his place in the team, and not once said anything negative. Fair enough, he has been poor this season, but his attitude can't be questioned. And when he played his work rate was tremendous even if sometimes his play was not.

I am still amazed that Diarra is considering going to Newcastle. This week's events should tell him all he needs to know about them. Maybe they will swap for Steven Taylor. Seems half decent. And was responsible for this great comedy moment:
