You'd be tempted to start him against every team we've played so far this season. :P

Eboue is a disgrace to the shirt.

And yes, we still need two wingers and a centre forward. Though I'm a massive Eduardo fan.

Yeah cos he looks like he can really influence a game and i don't think his forst prem goal is far away.

Well denilson should start over gilberto and either walcott or bendtner over eduardo as he clearly hasn't settled yet.

Walcott has pace, and even though his final ball/decision making can be lacking, nothing seems to upset a defender more than a speedy winger/striker running at them. He's terrifyingly quick when Arsenal are on a counter.

Surprised to see Lehmann back but nothing hangs on it much if he screws it up, and lets face it, Almunia is a clown. He managed to get the right direction for Downing's penalty, but somehow managed to dive over it. Is he angry about this? No. He stands there looking daft.

Arsenal are reported to be one of a host of clubs keen on signing AC Milan star Yoann Gourcuff.

under-21 international

Who?

The France

Oh.

under-21 international

Oh.

Sure fire signing there then. I'm sure he'll be causing hercules to say he should be starting within the next 5 years. And probably won't be.

If we toped our group it would have been between Schalke, Olympiacos, Celtic, Lyon, Roma and Fenerbache. Quite a difference but since we beat Real Madrid and Juventus on the way to the final two years ago, and last year lost to PSV I don't think it really matters with us. We like to make it hard.

Lovely to see van Persie back. He looks like he's grown up a bit lately too, comes across as a decent bloke.

Theo looked good, apart from his finishing. Diaby is mostly good but his decision making at times lets him down. I think he'll blossom in a year or two. Denilson is gonna be a cracking little player. I really like his attitude, work rate and simplicity.

Wenger - It's too early to tell on Fabregas, Hleb and Flamini

http://www.arsenal.com/article.asp?thisNav...leb+and+Flamini

"The question marks are against Flamini, Fabregas and Hleb. They are practising but not with the team. They are not in normal training. Who will come back into normal training before Sunday? It could be one, two or three. It is too early to say. And the selection will depend on that becuase you can gamble on one or two but not five."

Sounds to me that the Chelsea game might have come slightly early for RVP, it seems that he's able to play 70mins or so but do you start a player if you know he can't last the whole game? Maybe having him on the bench and having the option to bring him on if you need to is better.

As for Flamini, Hleb and Cesc, Wenger might be prepared to start with Flamini and 1 of the other 2.

If they all play however I fancy us to beat them, if Cesc and Hleb play no part I'd take a draw now.

It's a shame we have injuries to key players 'cos Chelsea without Drogba and Essien aren't that scary.

Gourcuff is a fine player, and i'm surprised you haven't been linked with him before now. Has the same balance and calmness on the ball as Zidane, and he was dubbed the new Zizi a few years back, i'd imagine the lack of first team opportunities at AC has slowed his development somewhat though.

The “signs look quite good” for Arsenal’s injured midfield trio ahead of the crucial Premier League clash with Chelsea at Emirates Stadium on Sunday.

Mathieu Flamini (thigh), Cesc Fabregas and Alex Hleb (both hamstring) are all back in training and fighting to be fit for what could be a pivotal game in the title race. A decision will be made as late as Sunday morning.

All three collected their injuries during a run of four away games straddling the end of November and the start of December. Arsenal returned home on Wednesday against Steaua Bucharest and, in that game, were able to start Robin van Persie for the first time in two months. He suffered no ill-effects and has been named in the squad but Theo Walcott collected a knock on his knee against the Romanian side. The England winger is definitely out and, of course, question marks remain over those others.

“Who will make it, I don’t know?” said Arsène Wenger at his pre-match press conference. “We know Robin van Persie will be available. As for Mathieu Flamini, Cesc and Alex Hleb, the signs look quite good but we have to make a decision.”

The manager added that if Fabregas was passed fit he would play.

“Theo Walcott is out with a little knee problem,” the Frenchman continued. “That is a question of days and we feel he should be OK for Tuesday maybe.”

Get in!!!!!

Shame about Theo though, could have been good to have the option of using him off the bench.

If Hleb, Cesc & Flamini are all fit and start, and on top of that we have RVP on the bench then Chelsea, Cashley and Fat Frank can fuck right off.

COME ON ARSENAL!!!!!!!!!!!

Grand Slam Sunday is nearly here folks, getting excited already!!!!!

Arsenal stars will donate their wages from their clash against Chelsea on Sunday to a charity to raise £250,000.

The club staff, from directors to cleaners, will give their earnings to national autism education charity TreeHouse, based at Muswell Hill.

Boss Arsene Wenger has urged all fans to donate to help create a new sports facility for the charity.

So there was an article in the programme on Weds about Theo. Turns out the game against Steaua was his 50th appearance for Arsenal. I was stunned to say the least-no idea he'd featured so heavily so quickly.

He then had an 'ok' game, lots of decent possession and a decent chance pulled wide, but never really showed what he's capable of.

The question is, after 50 games, is he going to be the new Pires, or the new Pennant? (Not literally in either case).
