That seems about right really.

Cesc, Hleb & Toure have been our best players so far this season and probably because of that are the most important too.

Wenger is spot on with the timing to rest players cough Rafa cough cough if you ask me.

I'd like to see Diarra, Diaby, Denilson, Walcott and Eduardo all start. If they all do I suppose one or two of them will play out of position though.

It would be good for Walcott to play up front and Diaby to play CM with Diarra.

I reckon it's a matter of time before we see Diarra and Cesc as our first choice pairing on the middle

I wouldn't be surprised but I can't really fault Flamini. He demanded a chance, got it and took it. He's hardly put a foot wrong considering the role he does. I can only imagine that Diarra has a bit more craft. He surely can't have Flamini's workrate :D . Be nice if we can keep them all happy cos right now out of Diaby, Denilson, Flamini and Diarra I'd really hate to lose any of them.

I agree. As well as Flamini has done, I think Diarra would be great with Cesc. He really is a mini-Makalele. Strong, quick and seems to never, ever lose the ball. I really hope he plays in the middle tonight.

Blimey, when you look at it like that, and consider that they are all, with the exception of Flamini, probably fourth choice for a centre midfield spot, Wenger has a hell of a job keeping them all happy.

I agree totally about Flamini, he is like a new signing. He's been nothing short of brilliant this season. Who's to say that his form this season hasn't contributed and even been a major factor in Cesc's amazing displays. I think Diarra is just a Flamini injury or suspension away from getting his chance though. We'll have to see after all the talk if he can take it though.

I agree also about the rest, we need to hold onto all of them. I'm a big fan of Gilberto too but with these lot around I can't see him getting many games in midfield. For that reason he could be off in the summer.

He has craft and graft! He's much better than Flamini. Trust me blood, innit. Or something.

Having said that, he'll probably have a stinker tonight now!

I'd like to see:

Fabianski

Clichy, Song, Gallas, Sagna

Walcott, Diaby, Diarra, Eboue

Bendtner, Eduardo

Hmm, looking at that we need some proper wingers. And I don't mean Hleb or Rosicky, whom I consider to be attacking mid.

Suggesting Diaby should play on the left, nonsense! He isn't a winger.

diarra has looked very good indeed every time i've seen him this season. he's tough as old boots but has got a cracking touch and mobility. in 2/3 years time it'll be him and cesc housing things in the middle.

I think it could be a lot sooner than 2/3 years. Probably get a few run outs this season but I reckon next season that will be our CM pairing.

I think Diarra would be great with Cesc. He really is a mini-Makalele. Strong, quick and seems to never, ever lose the ball.

Couple of times in the last cup game he looked to have lost it but wriggled expertly out of two or three challenges and strode forward. Impressive performance and not in his favoured position.

I hope Song does well tonight, like or not he's going to need to be an option when Toure goes to the ACN.

Funnily enough, the times I've seen him at centre back he's quite impressed me. He's strong and really tenacious. With the exception of half a yard of pace he could make a top drawer defender but I don't think he'll make the grade with us.

I think you're right mate. With the benefit of hindsight, as good as Gilberto has been I don't think he's really mobile enough. He's steady and reliable but not quite dynamic enough for me. I think the opposition needs to track Flamini which creates space. I think Gilberto has never really troubled sides in the same way. And with that in mind..

I'm a big fan of Gilberto too but with these lot around I can't see him getting many games in midfield. For that reason he could be off in the summer.

If we can get money in January it might not be the worst idea to sell him. It'll be good for him to start afresh and when he's come on as a sub this season - and that is difficult to do - he hasn't quite been able to get with the pace. Sure, he's come on specifically to tighten things up at times but I don't think he fits in to the way we've played to date. I'd be concentrating on keeping the younger lads hungry if I was Wenger. And I'm sure he'd appreciate that advice :D .

I've been saying for a while that i reckon Diarra will become cesc' main partner in midfield. i'd love to see him in central midfield tonight alongside Denilson but Gilberto will more than likely play there which is a shame as i'd like to see these promising young midfielders.

EDIT: I've just seen that Diarra is playing right back and Sagna is on the bench, Walcott on the right gilberto denilson in the middle, Diaby on the left

oh well :)
