I would be very pleasantly surprised if we got anything like £7m for him. Also I think we need his experience until the end of this season.

I agree with this. He's one of our longest standing players, and has authority on the pitch. Whilst the team will more than likely outgrow him by next year, his influence is still necessary for the development of our youngsters.

He's been a great servent to us but if he isn't getting a game and we could get 7mil i reckon we should sell him. Though his experience would also be handy throughout the course of the season. Good news that adebayor won't be off to the african cup of nations, we'll need him alot this season.

Heard that we might offload Merida. Wenger thinks he isn't mobile enough for the Prem and the recent bill from Barca means we'll get rid. That is only from one random source though.

That was in the paper last week too. As ever "Arsene knows" and if thats what he thinks who can argue? Maybe he can pick up another kid from Barca/Mexico/Africa/Mars as a replacement.

Arsenal will welcome back Mexican striker Carlos Vela, 18, in January. He is on loan with Osasuna and soon qualifies for a Spanish passport, meaning he can move to England.

Good news, if true :o . I do wonder about Bendtner though. If Vela comes back, and with Adebayor not going to the ACN, I wouldn't be surprised if we sold Bendtner. He does look to be a bit lazy and a Billy Big Bollocks. Not exactly the Wenger type.

Except that if Kronke isn't part of the lockdown then nothing's changed has it?

Even if he sells his shares to Jabba and he makes a bid, 45% or whatever still remains under the control of the board, with a further 5% or 6% in "friendly hands". And it's very difficult to run a company with less than 51%. If Jabba becomes hostile he would lose the support of the fans (even more) and that doesn't seem like what he wants to do.

BBC sports editor Mihir Bose believes that once Usmanov gains a 25% share of Arsenal, the current board would not be able to change the way the club is run without his say-so.

Why? At 25% he'd have some sort blocking stake where he can veto extreme idea's the board puts foward? Of which there's been, what, two? And in what why would they want to change how the clubs run in any major way? That's something the fat Russian fuck wants to do, not the board. I imagine the board quite like the way the club's bineg run right now? That line really pissed me off, making it sound like some sort of near nightmare scenario.

Anyway, the lock down is good news and let's hope the Stan's on board with the board.

12. There has been talk in the media of Red&White Holdings acquiring a ‘blocking stake’ in the Club. What is that and would it effect or influence the running of the Club?

Basically speaking, a shareholding of more than 25% can block special resolutions for unusual matters, like winding up the Company or changing its name. For all usual business and operational matters, such as electing directors, appointing auditors, buying and selling players, contractual and commercial matters or approving the financial statements, the Club only needs a majority of votes in favour. Therefore if Red&White Holdings acquired 25% or more of the Club, they would not be able to block or influence any standard business decisions. Furthermore, a party that holds less than 50.1% of shares would not be entitled to a seat on the Board. In effect, a blocking stake in the Club has no material influence.

As said above I think two special resolutions have been proposed. The stadium and something else but I forget what.

It is a massive blow to lose RVP, he is so important to us. I just hope he isn't out for long. At least we have eduardo who can get given a chance to show his qualities. I liked bendtner last year but he hasn't impressed me at all and i am looking forward to seeing vela. I dunno whether to believe the merida talk lets just see how he plays in the carling cup.

We'll be ok.

I hope so. The best thing about this season is that our players seem to have taken it in turns to be on top form. RvP then Cesc then Adebayor then RvP. Let's just hope someone else steps up now. On the plus side Gallas should be fit, as should Rosicky.

I'll be honest mate.. I know he's scored some good goals but I don't think RvP has really turned up this season. Obv. you want to be scoring and he's been doing that, but his overall contribution hasn't been what I expected so far. I know he'll pick up and I'm a massive fan but right now I'd rather have lost him for a month than Adebayor. Ideally, of course, I'd rather lose noone and I feel your pain regarding internationals  . It's bad enough when a player gets injured on Club duty.

As per wiener, let's hope Eduardo steps up to the plate big style. This should be his chance for three or four starts and hopefully get off the mark.

Mmmm I have to disagree. While Adebayor's general team play has been very good I think RvP has been a constant threat for us and it's no suprise he is our top scorer. Then again if Cesc had got injured I may have had to bomb Fifa's and Uefa's headquarters and demanded an end to international football.

Seriously I hate it.

Well, you're wrong.

:)

Hehe. Maybe my expectations are too high. I'm not saying he's been poor, maybe.. out of sorts? Thing is, I expect so much of him. Four goals in three games just isn't enough  .

Since I can remember my dad always said he wished no Arsenal players played internationals. I think I agree. It holds virtually zero interest for me. Most people seem to see it as an uwelcome distraction and wait for domestic football to start again.

You're a tough man to please Dude.

I was only born in England, my parents are from abroad so I guess I am in a different position from most. But still, I can't get over the fact that you dislike certain players one day and then cheer for them the next. I can't imagine cheering a goal by Fat Frank or Cashley.

Scrap internationals and play the Champions League every summer. You heard it here first! (And last probably.)

RVP hasn't played that well in a few games this season but he has still been a threat and is a massive loss to us. Adebayor has played really well this year but for me RVP is the main man now. I do believe though that eduardo will make an impact now, he is an experienced player who is still scoring and who seems to have settled quite nicely.
