I think we need to play Theo up front becuase it's killing his confidence playing out wide. The fans are being very patient but I've got to say it's getting harder and harder to keep giving him the benefit of the doubt. Yes he is young, but we really need to see something because Cesc is young (ok he's an exception), but how old is Traore, Diaby & Denilson?

Theo needs to step up now before people really start to lose patience.

Yeah, I do agree.

I said ages ago that he should still be at Southampton for this season and possibly next. Given that this can't be an option now he needs to start putting performances together. That said, of the players you rightly mentioned Theo does stand out as the youngest looking by some way. Some players won't blossom until relatively late, I think Theo might be one of those unless he can somehow string together three or so consecutive blinders and not look back. The talent is there and he seems like a cracking lad. But he's nowhere near a first choice right now.

I didn't think so at the time but yes he definitely should have gone on loan back to southampton as soon as we bought him and probably should still be there for this season. We probably can't loan him now as that would kill any confidence he might have left.

He could blossom later but I thought the whole thing with him was that he was this superkid.

Did we pay £12 million for him, or was it £5mill + the rest in add ons?

£5m then pay as you go I think. At this rate it is still £5m. And might bloody stay there. I reckon he should throw him in with Van Persie tonight if Adebayor is out.

Bendtner would throw a wobbly if that happens.

The ref for tonights game is the one who reff'd that game in Paris.

Bendter can wait, i'd rather see theo given a go up front for now just to see how he plays in his natural position. He has played alright this season on the flanks, he looks better than last year the prob is everyone is waiting for him to explode onto the scene and he hasn't shown signs of that happening.

Theo looks so low on confidence though, and it's affecting his decision making. He seems to shoot when he should pass, pass when he should shoot, runs at the defender when he should give it etc.

Maybe a couple of games up front will do him good, being in the final 3rd and that.

Also give him a chance to use his pace down the middle where he could cause more trouble than out wide, get a few shots on goal, score a couple of goals even and start to build his confidence back up.

So he can get knocked over by 15 stone 6'4" defenders?

He needs to bulk up a bit first, like Dennilson

I think the rest of the season on loan at a decent championship side would do him good.

I don't doubt that he has the pace, skill and ability to succeed at Arsenal, I think it's just a question of time. As I said in the summer, I don't think he will consistently bag 20 goals this season or next for that matter but no doubt his time will come, when he learns how to make the right decision.

Anyway. Not a bad performance. Not great, but job done.

Just about sums it up. Can't help feeling that we may have drawn or even lost this game last year.

Well who will bag 20 goals a season for us?

Hopefully RvP and Adebayor can both get 20. They are on 5 and 6 respectively already.

just watching the highlights on footytube.

how about that off-side decision then eh? and HOW did fabregas miss from the edge of the 6yd box? and that crossed the line and...

meh, there's nothing beats being at the match, eh? except maybe watching it live on ITV4 and posting at the same time :D

They should have won by a lot more out there, we were certianly the better team. Thougth senderos looked good but I wish Almunia would stop charging out like that.

Sagna looks more and more impressive and eboue less and less a right winger :D

I thought it was a good result, not our best performance of the season by far but if we are to win a trophy or two and make a serious challenge for all four this season, these are the sort of games where you've got to get in, get a goal, take the 3pts and get out, just like we did on Saturday against West Ham.

There were a few good performances yesterday, namely RVP, Hleb, Adebayor and I thought Senderos played very well.

So true, this crosses my mind quite regularly at the moment. It's got to the stage where I'm genuinely expecting us to win every game relatively comfortably. If we don't win the Prem, CL or both this year I'm gonna be gutted. I know that's asking a lot but I think we're capable.

Thougth senderos looked good..

I think he made one mistake all night. Aside from that he looked excellent. He's definitely concentrating on the simple things and his game is better for it.

Sagna is one reason why we're doing so well, IMO. Gets on with it. The back four looks much, much better. We can actually hold a line now and they seem to communicate. Toure continues to be everywhere, he's brilliant.

I could quite easily lose Eboue right now. I'm think his shoddy attitude and diving can only have a negative impact on this group.

Usmanov wants to be friends.

http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11095_2775350,00.html

Usmanov says he was not aware of the bad feeling that existed between Dein and the current board.

"What we heard about him (Dein) and the board at the outset and what we see now are two different pictures.

"When Mr Dein contacted us we didn't know the substance of the problem between him and the board.

Interesting!

Usmanov wants to be friends.

Interesting!

LONDON (AP) -Russian billionaire Alisher Usmanov may part with former Arsenal vice chairman David Dein in order to gain influence at the Premier League club.

I think we do need to keep things friendly rather than risk a really hostile takeover attempt. Ideally we don't want him near the Club, but we know what they say about keeping your friends close but your enemies closer.

I'd love it if this bloke fucked Dein off and left the traitor out in the cold.

As Daley said, RvP and Adebayor with any luck.

But with scoring midfielders as well, the pressure eases on the forwards a bit. It's less important that Eduardo isn't getting many yet as Fabregas is banging so many in.
