WilliamHill have chalked it down as an own goal  I wants me moneys!

Really? I thought I heard last night that he had been officially credited. Will check later.

Big question is who plays upfront at the weekend. Think it might be time to dump RVP out of my fantasy team and give Eduardo a run.

EDIT:

Arse! Everyone is now reporting it as an own goal :)

I think Eduardo will start on Saturday, but who partners him I'm not sure.

My guess RVP. I think those 2 up front could slaughter Derby.

Yes and despite arsene saying that at his age (and with current form) he has to play all the time I can see that Adebayor may well deserve a bit of a rest.

He's still a young kid remember, we've got to give him time.

I don't see anything in him to convince me otherwise. I only looked at Anelka for 10 mins to see he had something when he was 18, with Theo he has bags of pace but he's such a lightweight! He's easily muscled out of a game by a fullback that's not going to take any shit. I'd love to be wrong but I just think he'll end up being a decent player, but nothing special.

Daley, do you mean - "This is the Matty Flamini Society"?

This would be a good game to rotate players out. You dont do that sort of thing away against portsmouth, but at home against weaker teams.

I'd go:

Almunia

Hoyte/Toure/Senderos/Clichy

Walcott/Flamini/Diarra/Hleb

Eduardo/Adebayor

That way you can have a strong bench, but a pretty decent starting 11 as well.

In fact, poor old Clichy will probably play as many matches as Cesc this year and could do with a match off. Maybe Traore or Flamini at LB?

Going back to Walcott, clearly he is a striker. But Wenger doesn't do "just" a striker. You need to do more than just hang around on the pitch and wait for a chance to score (cough Owen cough), you need to contribute to the play. So he's playing the little runt out wide, to improve him and give him a winger's perspective of a game. His goal in the Carling cup final shows he can finish, but Wenger wants more. Don't get me wrong, he's no Henry (who is?) but he is gonna make it I reckon.

I prefer "this is the matty flamini society" to the tune of the self preservation society. Well proper!

There was a good Eboue song in Amsterdam as well, which went to the tune "tequila", iirc.

I really like the "Frenchman with a plan" song.

Too right about the scousers/Portsmouth.

I'd go

Almunia

Sagna / Toure / Senderos / Clichy/Traore (if he isn't in prison)

Walcott / Diaby / Diarra / Hleb

RVP / Eduardo

Bench: Fabianski / Song(only joking) / Cesc / Gilberto / Adebayor / Bendtner

What with the Carling cup on Tuesday we could take this rare opportunity to give some players up to 10 days off.

too right. this gets 'nuff rewinds in block 6, we've been rinsing it for a year now. brrap, etc.

All day it's been going round in my head. I have to stop myself whistling it.

The scarf thing is awesome too, hope it spreads to the rest of the ground.

Does anyone know what happened at half time next to the away end? The Arsenal fans seemed to get a banner out facing the Sevilla fans who all applauded and I can only guess that it was about Puerta, the guy who died. Does anyone know? I couldn't see.

I really hope that's what happened.

Great result last night, couldn't have asked for more.

And to distract us from all the Usmanov bollocks, here's a video of the team doing a halfway crossbar challenge, with camaraderie like that, hopefully the team will be able to put all of the takeover talk out of their minds. It's a bit in French, but you get the gist.

Hehe, yeah I've seen that. Cool. That was the only bit of Soccer AM I liked.
