Well, they're 100% in their league and an attacking team with lots of talent. Won the UEFA Cup for the past two years. Bit of tester this match, although I can't see us losing it.

Dunno, 2-0?

Yes, I know they are good. Just don't know much about their style and how that stacks up against us. Anyway, I like your score better, 2-0 it is then

I watch a lot of La Liga and I've become a bit of a Sevilla admirer over the last couple of seasons. They play on the counter a lot and I wouldn't be surprised to see them be content to allow you the majority of possession and just look to hit on the break. They break fast compared to most Spanish teams and most of their attacks will go through Alves who plays more or less a free role from right back! Seriously, he's their biggest attacking threat. Whoever you play on the left is going to have a real job on their hands because he'll float between the fullback (Clichey is fit, yeah?) and the winger and he'll cause all sorts of problems if you let him. I quite fancy Arsenal to get a result there as although they're good, they're not as good as you, nor do they have the experience of playing in games like this. Their manager is quality, though, and I expect he'll set them up to frustrate you as much as possible.

Haven't they only played two games though.

Yeah, just the two. Still 100% though  .

We'll be fine, I'm sure. Hopefully Rosicky will carry over his form from Saturday, same with Hleb who's been very impressive this season. I'd also like to see van Persie dropped and Eduardo partner Adebayor to see if they can play together.

I'm not sure tonight is the best time to see if Eduardo and Adebayor can play together, but I hear what you're saying about Eduardo. I'd like to see him get a run in the team as he looks to have goals in him and even though RVP has bagged a couple of goals this season he doesn't seem to be firing on all cylinders.

Nah, if we're going to play those two together at anytime it'll be against Derby this Saturday.

I'm not sure how you lot are set for injuries and that but I think one up (RVP or Adebayor) and Hleb in behind would be the best way to go against this lot. If you play with two upfront it'd improve their chances of catching you out, IMO.

We've played 4-5-1 in Europe for a couple of years now, so I don't see us changing that for this game.

My squad prediction:

Almunia

Sagna-Senderos-Toure-Clichy

Rosicky-Flamini-Fabregas-Hleb-De Silva

RvP

You might not be far off there but I'd lose van Persie and keep Adebayor in. He's more of threat in the air, van Persie isn't playing well and he doesn't look comfy up there on his own. Or possibly play van Persie on the left with Eduardo up top?

Not sure about that team. For one we have flicked between 4-4-2 and 4-5-1 in the CL last year. Also no Gilberto in there? I know there is talk of him being rested but surely if he is to be rested this Saturday against Derby is the day to do it?

My team:

Spain's England's number 1

Sagna-Senderos-Toure-Clichy

Rosicky-Gilberto-Cesc-Diaby-Hleb

Adebayor

For some reason I thought Gilberto wasn't fit, if he is then replace him with Flamini.

I know that having a big man up front will cause more havoc for the Sevilla defence, and that Adebayor is probably on a high from his goals on the weekend, but RvP just has more CL experience, and I don't have enough faith in Adebayor to pull off the one man role away in Europe.

Haha, sorry - if anyone can track him, the rocket boy himself can!

He is fit to play though IIRC.

I think you may be surprised at some point tonight then. He's very hard to track not just because of his attacking qualities but because of the runs he makes and the positions he makes them from. Clichey won't be able to do it for the entire 90 minutes because he'll have to cope with their left winger too. Whoever is playing left wing is going to have to be very disciplined and for that reason alone I don't think it would be wise to play RVP there. It's also not uncommon to see him hanging about in the centre of the pitch or popping up on the left when they've got the ball. He doesn't stop running either, he must be an annoying bastard to play against.

Maybe we should get Sagna to mark him. So to speak.

I'd rather start with 10 men than have that knob head Senderos in the team.

Don't forget we'll possibly have some of the ball ourselves and maybe even cause them some problems. Alves can track Clichy, thanks.

I've already said I expect you to have most of the ball and to get a result (comfortable win, actually). I was just pointing out that Alves is a big threat, particularly on the break. :P
