He's not and never will be a left winger. He looks really good for us when he's playing from the right or in behind a striker. He's certainly not a left winger but can play well as a left sided forward in the Holland or Ajax 4-3-3 formation.

Wenger would have played him on the left. Initially anyway, until he moved him upfront.

It was a definite red. Senderos was just clumsy but it was a goal scoring opportunity.

Kanu's touch took him away from goal where Toure was covering. If he'd gone towards goal then yes, it's a red. I thought it was a pretty harsh sending off. Which leaves us pretty thread bare at the back.

I really do think you need to take another look at the replay objectively. It wasn't malicious but it was damn clumsy by Senderos and Kanu was right on the edge and in the middle of the 18 yard box. No other decision but a red could have been made.

Van Persie's touch took him well away from goal when James brought him down. It's still a blatant penalty though.

Clichy was brilliant. Diaby was excellent until 'that' miss!

Loving them both. Diaby couldn't hit a cow's arse with a banjo but he's brilliant.

Clichy? Forget about it :( . Fantastic.

Hmmm, my objective head agrees, but it was harsh. Kanu, 20 yards out? Goalscoring opportunity? Sorry, but no. Toure on the blind side, no doubt.

Yes.

Without trying to wriggle out of the Senderos red card, I'd have thought James would be at least as much a candidate for a red. Not even a yellow? (as far as I know). Not sure of the rules anymore :( .

Anyway. I think the Prem has been quite refreshing. All open. Us and Liverpool look great.

I think senderos is a bit unlucky personally.

He's shit, clumsy, hapless and a liability.

As for Clichy, the biggest compliment I can pay him is that no one misses Ashley Cole. Clichy is the better player. Can you imagine the mass hysteria and hype if he happened to be English? He just knuckles down and gets on with it whilst giving 100% every week. Brilliant.

How hard did Diaby hit that shot at the end? The one that went just over the bar. That boy has some power. Shame he has no accuracy!

I still can't believe that header didn't go in. I was off my seat and I never get up before it goes in unless I can see it going in. Seemed harder to miss.

i'm beginning to think i'm a bit gay for gael clichy. is there anything the man can't do? he's a pocket-sized perfect full back. god i love that bloke.

i loved the 'choke on your caviar' directed at club level.

after the game, boris johnson walked past the bailey holding hands with who i presume was his young son

cue chants of

'boris is a paedo, boris is a paedo'

^ That must have been nice for his young son.

Best match I have been to for a long time. Arsenal are playing with more venom than last year - fiercer in the tackle and more determined all over the pitch. Amazing what a change of Captain can do.

I wasn't very impressed by Adebayor yesterday.

Does anyone know why Flamini was preferred to Hoyte at RB?

Lets hope Gallas is fixed before the Spurs game, otherwise we're in trouble.

I wasn't very impressed by Adebayor yesterday.

I can never decide about him. He certainly works hard and he was causing havoc constantly yesterday as the defence just couldn't keep tabs on him. His first touch hough is often lacking and he seems to slow down so many moves. I wondered yesterday what Eduardo would have done in his place.

We are also back to the "where do you stick 'em" problem. Hleb is nowhere near as effective out wide but stick him behind a striker and Cesc becomes less effective.

As for Hoyte...I like him and he's a hard worker. But he doesn't cut it at this level.

Adebayor has still to get going this season but I do think there is a place for him in the squad. Not sure if him and RVP is the right partnership. I'd like to see Eduardo start with RVP.

Hoyte hasn't really let us down when he's played at right back. Going forward he's not the best but he's pretty solid defensively. I guess though with Sagna looking good when he played, Eboue there too and Diarra able to play there Hoyte's days are numbered.

Hleb is not really a winger and looked much better when he played inside but that's not gonna happen now everyone is fit but I still think he did ok yesterday, made a few nice passes/runs.

And just to add to the Clichy love, he's been our best player so far this season if you ask me.

Senderos:

are you Cygan?

are you Cygan?

are you Cygan in disguise?

are you Cygan in disguise?

Maybe I was watching a different game, but he didn't put a foot wrong until the sending off, the complete opposite of shit, clumsy and hapless. The sending off was harsh as well, I am very glad to have him as a backup CB.

I dont know either, he runs his heart out and is battering the defenders all game but is that enough? maybe thats the whole point, and his presence is enough if the rest of the team is playing well.

I agree, he wasn't shit yesterday. I think he's upped his concentration levels and is looking to do things really simple and stick to his strengths. To me, it looks like he's learning. A couple of row Z clearances too, nothing wrong with that.

I agree also. Senderos was unlucky to be red carded, especially as James got away without a card. Unfortunate, but not shite.

As for Adebayor, everytime the ball got to him he either lost possession, or the moved slowed down so much that there was no danger. He missed that sitter of a cross after the penalty as well. Yes, he "offers a threat" and makes a nuisance of himself at corners and things, but that's not really enough. Is it? He didn't chase the ball down enough for my liking either. I thought Eduardo looked a lot sharper in the short run out he got than Adebayor.

One school of thought is that Adebayor was purchased to do the dirty work Henry wouldn't - chasing down the ball, challenging for headers etc. Now Henry has gone, what place is there for him? He was hardly setting the team on fire at Monaco when we went in for him.

Hmm, I rate Adebayor more than that, he is getting there. There are games when he really fires - he chases everything, holds the ball up and is impossible to tackle without comitting a foul (see Bolton in the FA cup replay last year, for example). I think the added pressure of Eduardo and Bendtner will see him right.

Yeah, I like him. I think that seeing him in the flesh helps. You can make more sense of how much work he gets through and how tricky he is. He's a more manly Kanu :P .

No doubt, he pulled it out of the bag a few times last season (moan yoo, for example), but I'm still not sold.

As for being more manly, he took his shirt off after the game on sunday, and they showed him on the big screen on the emirates, the dude has an 8 pack!
