Cesc can give as good as he gets, and our midget midfielders are tougher than a lot of people give them credit for. If all else fails then Kolo and Gilberto can dispense any required punishments.

It's in them if they want to do it. I must admit, Flamini has impressed me so far this season. He puts himself about and he's no mug on the ball. Not the long term answer but I don't think I'd lose him to make room for, say, Diarra from Chelsea.

About 20 minutes until I leave work for the game. Predictions?

I reckon we will score first for once but can see it ending 2-1 to us as of course, we have to concede at some stage.

2-0.

I think Hoyte is in the squad for tonight and will probably play at RB.

On Saturday against Man Citeh Toure was captain right? He was probably given the armband as Gilberto was going to be on the bench until Senderos got injured in the warm up.

If Toure and Gilberto both play tonight it will be interesting to see who will be captain.

Gilberto I reckon. (3rd different captain of the season in 5 games)

It was a boring match but we scored from most of the chances we created which is great considering how many we missed last year. And it seems we finally have our "fox in the box" Eduardo took his goal very well and i hope to see more of it

boring old game, but that was the best atmosphere we've had yet at the grove. total jokes.

The scarves waving in the corner was pretty cool. Is that where you sit? I'm sure I have asked you before but I forget.

"Tottenham watching Big Brother" made me laugh.

Is the "Wonder of you" now our official song that we walk out to? They played it on Saturday and last night.

As for the game, job done. Scored nice and early and killed the tie. Eduardo looked good all round I thought, excellent run for Cesc's goal and a goal in the six yard box? Is that allowed? :)

EDIT: Also just read this in the BBC football gossip section:

Arsenal want to trademark the word Gooner to use on their club merchandise. (Guardian)

There's a good column on arseblog about that Daley, its sparking a lot of debate.

I was impressed with Eduardo last night, he could help us to do some damage with a decent supply from the left wing - his part in Cesc's goal showed that, as well as that lovely cross in the first half with RVP almost put away.

yeah, i'm the back of block 6 right in the corner. the scarves really make a difference - red action are trying to get people to do it at every game. the 'we're the north bank/clock end' was great i reckon.

Personally I think the club can copyright what they like, but if they start trying to shut down websites or the Gooner fanzine for breach of copyright then that takes the piss. However I don't think that will be the case as that isn't mentioned in the trademark application here. Seems to be mainly clothes and stuff like that. Who can object to that? Who doesn't want a pair of "Gooner" slippers? :(

People can't moan about Arsenal being skint and then moan about them trying to make the most of their opportunities to make money. Loads of clubs on the continent sell merchandise with the name of the fans groups on them, or even the hooligan groups. According to Danny Dyer anyway!

The scarves were well cool - a pity its just a small corner block at the moment- need to get it extended all round the north curva.

Presley seems to be official now but God knows why - there was a poll some time ago and I voted for 1812 Overture to be timed so as the players run out onto the pitch just as the cannons are booming away.

I love the North Bank Clock End chorus - brings back the memories.

If Arsenal were really serious they should put a scarf on every seat before the next home game and ask people to bring them to every game. Now that would be something.

I quite like it. Not really got anything to do with Arsenal but I like it.

Seems funny to think that perhaps in years to come kids will ask their dad "what's the Clock end?"

An hour to go until the draw. It's one of these:

Valencia

Lyon

FC Porto

Sevilla/AEK Athens

PSV Eindhoven

Roma

Benfica

Werder Bremen

and one of these:

CELTIC

Schalke

VfB Stuttgart

Steaua Bucharest

CSKA Moscow

Sporting Lisbon

Lazio

Marseille

and one of these:

RANGERS

Shakhtar Donetsk

Besiktas

Olympiakos

Dynamo Kiev

Fenerbahce

Slavia Prague

Rosenborg

Nightmare draw: Valencia/Lyon/Sevilla with a trip to Russia and Scotland thrown in. Not really many poor teams there.

That press release says that Dein is now the Chairman of this investment company (quite happily called Red and White) and will...

"In his role as Chairman David Dein will develop proposals to support the future

success of Arsenal and will focus on increasing Red & White's stake in Arsenal

as outlined above. Red & White believes that in light of the fast-changing

landscape for football, both in the UK and globally, it will be able to assist

Arsenal and ensure that it will be able to thrive in the future and become the

leading football club in the world. Specifically, Red & White believes that in

order to remain competitive at the top level of the game, Arsenal will require

access to significant funding."

Might not be all bad, but strikes me as odd that Dein seemed to be buttering up Kronke but has suddenly changed sides as it were. This could either be very, very good or oh so very, very bad.

It's Sevilla or AEK.

Not too shabby thus far.

Dunno, only Lyon or Valencia would have been worse. Not the best draw but not the worst.

It's all about the next two though. You always get one good team but it just depends whether you get another tricky one (or two even) or not.
