It's a sad old life following a football team in 2007.

I'll high five you, without the graphic.

He's not half bad though, right?

Oh, and that penalty? Jesus. Worst decision EVER.

Anelka's 29 though so I don't see Wenger going for him. Would the Arsenal faithful welcome him back with open arms?

Rob Styles certainly has taken over Graham Poll's mantle. :(

Before I start I just want to say that I love Jens, he's a proper nutter, proper gooner and has given us so many funny moments and so many superb moments too, the Villareal penalty for example.

In my eyes he is a legend, ok not the Bergkamp, Henry and Pires type, but the Grimandi, Perry Groves and Ray Parlour type.

Anyway, the way I see it Wenger has a big decision to make with the keepers position, does he:

1) Back Jens all the way and say he is the best, number 1, but yes he makes the odd mistake but he also make world class saves, he is the number 1 at Arsenal and will remain so.

2) Drop him and by doing that practically end his carrer at Arsenal because surely at his age and at this stage of his Arsenal carrer to drop him now leaves no way back.

If he drops him does he replace him with Almunia who instead of falling down the pecking order when we signed Fabianski seems to have somehow been pushed even nearer to Jens, or does he go all the way and say Jens is dropped, finished, and Fabianski is the new number 1.

If so where does that leave Almunia?

It's a big decision and one I think Wenger will not shy away from.

The bottom line is you want your keeper to win you about 10pts or so during the season, that's if you're serious about winning things and being a real contender.

Already 2 games in Jens has cost us 2pts yesterday and almost cost us 3 against Fulham.

Like I said great keeper but maybe the time has come. 2 games seems a bit of a knee jerk reaction but in a way if Wenger had any doubts about Jens being up to it for 1 more season then maybe this has made his mind up if he wasn't totally sure before.

If Wenger relly beleived when he was buying Fabianski that he is top quality then put him in, make him your number 1. If Fabianksi was bought to be eventual number 2 to Almunia then put Almunia in and make him your number 1.

My opinion is, give it a few more games and if it looks like Jens is done, then put Almunia or Fabianksi in. I'm not totally convinced with Almunia and not seen anything of Fabianski but if Wenger has bought him because he's the real deal then put him in and make him the number 1.

Absolute shocking mistake from Lehman. Two goals conceded from his two mistakes. Not good. I think Wenger will stick with him for now, don't think he will risk dropping him now as if he does, like you say, he is finished really, there's no going back. He should maybe have replaced him in the summer.

On the plus side we fought well against an amazingly dirty team. We ended up with about the same number of bookings as them but played by far the better football. Eduardo looked good and we had a couple of goal mouth scrambles but just couldn't put it away. I would have taken a point before the game but considering how their goal was scored its definitely two points dropped.

Shame about Gallas (out for three weeks). He should be back for the derby on the 15th September.

Anyone see this over the weekend?

Arsenal and Bayern Munich are in a £10m battle for Croatian midfielder Luka Modric. (Mail on Sunday)

I'd take that. Still look short on the left.

Not to sure if we should drop Jens or not but if we do in my mind there's no question who should be put in as no.1, Almunia.

I think Fabianksi is far to young to be put at the top of our goalkeeper list and from what I saw of Almunia pre-season he looked very, very solid. Fair enough, I haven't seen Fabianksi in action (save for the ever reliable youtube video) but I think it will, and should, be a while before he get's a proper run in the first team.

Surely we aren't going to lose out to Brian Munich on another player - Ribery.

We look short on the lsft is a bit of an understatement.

This new injury to Gallas is a kick in the nuts as well.

Can anyone just remind me, apart from Toure and Senderos what other fit centre backs do we have? (They must be older than 12)

Lehman out for 2 weeks. Thats got to be good news for you guys

Actually, that's quite a result. Arsene doesn't have to drop him now and if the new keeper impresses then it's only natural he continues. Then maybe sell Lehmann in January.

Shame, he's been brilliant for most of his time here.

Well its going to be Almunia replacing him not the new keeper, which is strange.

Looks like Adebayor and Gilberto are in the squad for tomorrow, what the hell is going on with Diaby though?

He's one unlucky player. Loads of Arsenal fans were saying before the season started that he was one to watch and this was a big season for him and then with Gilberto galavanting for a few weeks this was a real opportunity to stake his claim but what happens, he bloody gets injured again.

Cesc..

"Thierry is the best I've ever played with. There's no doubt. But there was this other factor. He is Thierry Henry. When I came I felt I was low and he was high. It was a big difference and for a long time I was intimidated. When I had the ball I felt I had no choice but to look for him. I did this because, one, he is the best and, two, because I had the feeling I had to pass it to him. He has such a strong character that he almost made you feel this way. I needed him to say, 'Look, you don't always have to play the ball to me.' Once he said that, I was free and I gave him even more assists. Thierry is a very intelligent man and I wish him all the luck in the world at Barça."

Interesting, I think we all had this impression of Thierry.

A good 3 points but Senderos injured in the warm up ;) come back Djourou!

Sagna off injured too  .

Played OK, not great. They had the first half hour and it was more or less all us after that. A few missed chances including the pen.

Hleb is much better in the middle. I imagine Rosicky would be too, as it stands he doesn't really impress me. It's all there, just playing out of position.

Adebayor was out of sorts. To be expected I guess.

Clichy, as ever, stands out :( .

So after the subs who was playing at the back then?

Clichy - Gilberto - Toure - Flamini???

Yes. A bit makeshift really.

3 points is 3 points though.

We will squander more penalties this season than some teams will be awarded.

When the goal eventually came it was so simple too...

Need to find beer, fast.

i'm very worried about the state of our defence - we've now got one fit centre back. i presume we can recall djourou from bum city can't we?

fuck my arse was it hot yesterday. we were sweating like rapists at the back of block 6, utterly minging.
