That would make the deal £14mil + Song.

Who's worth how much exactly?

I think an overall figure of about 12-14mill seems about right.

Song could be worth about £1.5mill and Flamini must be woth about £4-£5mill taking into account we got about £2mill a piece for Muamba and Alliadiere.

Come to think of it if Mido is worth £6.8mill then Flamini is worth about £10mill.

:(

I think we get dicked over when it comes to transfer fees. You see the prices Liverpool, United, Spurs etc. get for players, why aren't we getting more?

I was gonna watch this online but does anyone know if you can buy it individually on Setanta?

Don't think so. £9.99 a month but, and I didn't know this and haven't heard it anywhere else apart from a mate of mine, Setanta charge £60 for connection. That can't be right can it?

I'm off down the pub. Sod paying for more football.

I googled it and there's a £10 activation fee.

I'll watch it online, I think.

What was the game like then? My internet arrangement was fucked up, didn't work  .

On the face of it I consider it a great result. Clearly a physical team, capable, away from home and a lot at stake. A tricky little test. Glad to see Cesc and Hleb score, those two are looking aces right now.

First half was a bit shit, they hit the post, Cesc had a good shot saved and RVP took an alright free kick that didn't trouble the keeper too much really.

We stepped up the pace a bit in the second half and got them two late goals. I'm sure this was Wengers plan all along, don't conceed early (not at all if possible), don't get bullied, step up a gear in the 2nd half and our superior quality would get us through.

Clichy did excellent setting up the 1st goal and Lehmann & Sagna also did well setting up the second.

Lehmann also made a couple of good saves.

Sparta were a bit dirty but it was good to see us giving it back.

All in all a very good result.

Only down side is the bookings to Cesc, RVP and Flamini.

Clichy is turning into a fantastic player.

You could see as soon as Cesc scored he was pointing at Clichy and making sure everyone saw and took notice. On the Arsenal website Cesc is saying his goal was 90% Clichys goal.

I like this huddle malarky we are doing at the end of games (are we doing it at the beginning too?).

Its really good to see. Also good to see was Cesc taking out that plank Repka and then mimicking his limp, which didn't make him too happy ;)

However, the fact that our 2 central defenders are too short was also raised a few times. A swinging free kick with a flick on is an obvious route for any teams looking at our weaknesses.

Anyone here going to the Rovers game on Sunday?

I don't want to get too excited but there looks to be something different this season. It looks really promising right now and I think letting Henry go is proving to be a very good decision. I get the feeling that Gallas will be a good captain. Lucky mentioned the huddle we do and I think the togetherness is obvious. Players are looking more like men now and I see responsibility showing through.

Adebayor, Eduardo, Diaby and Denilson all to come back.

Of course. Blimey, our squad is none too shabby when you think about it.

I don't think we'd have come back with a 0-2 result from that game last year. Anyone else think that?

Same as the Fulham game, last year that would have ended 1-1 for sure.

Looking at Hlebs goal again(last nights goal) it's intersting to note that Sagna first touched the ball when it was in Spartas half, pretty good throw from Lehmann I think. Also Sagna only had 2 touches and Hleb only had 2 touches and the ball is in the back of the net.

Not quite sure what all this means but thought it was quite interesting.

;)

Yes, interesting. There wasn't much of that last season either and it used to be what we were all about. I mean, Jesus. The keeper throws it into the opposition half where the right back is playing left wing, takes two touches to find Hleb who promptly buries it. Much more of that, please.

Have we become well 'ard all of a sudden?

ARSENAL defender Gael Clichy has warned Premier League midfielders that Cesc Fabregas has become a lean, mean, kicking machine.

Fabregas, 20, was told by boss Arsene Wenger to match his undoubted skill with a more physical approach this season.

And he did just that, delivering a hefty tackle which injured ex-West Ham star Tomas Repka in Wednesday’s 2-0 Champions League win at Sparta Prague.

The Arsenal team were angered by comments made by Repka on TV before the game that he was out to “kick” the Gunners.

Clichy said: “It’s great to see Cesc this way. People have been talking, saying it’s not his game to play like that — but he’s showed he can score, pass and kick people. So everything is perfect. It’s nice he’s in the squad.

“Repka talked too much before the game. I’m not happy he’s injured but sometimes you have to try to play your best instead of talking. I hope it’s not a big injury for him.

“Maybe he thinks this is the way to play against Arsenal but this year we’re ready to show we’re not the same as before.”

Like it though, about time really.

I hope so. I preferred the "loads of red cards" Arsenal we had before the battle of Old Trafford.

Yeah. It annoyed me at the time but looking back we need some of that grit. Good times.

Funnily enough, Keown was on football focus. I was thinking 'he looks like he could give you 90 minutes, no problem'. Legend. I'd go to war with that bloke. I love Lee Dixon too, one of my favourite players.
