These rumours about Djourou to Brum are still floating about.

It's a strange one as he's our 3rd or maybe 4th choice centre back and through a long hard season with injuries, suspensions and the African cup this season where Toure and Eboue will be miisng for a bit we're gonna need all the defenders we've got.

Maybe Sagna can play CB, but that still leaves us a bit short during the African cup.

Hope it's bullshit but the story has been around for a while now and it's not really going away.

Any more signing before the window closes??

A bit of a surprise that Gallas has been made captain, hope this doesn't mean Gilberto is off, Valencia and Juve have been sniffing around apparently.

Gilberto's one of those unsung heroes that you can miss if you don't look properly(or if you're thick) but I think, and I think most gooners would agree, that he's one of our most important players and does a very important job and does it brilliantly.

Anyway it would be good for the team and the fans to get behind Gallas because he could be a good captain. He does whinge a bit and sometimes talks bollocks but lately he's been saying good things and he is a winner. Hopefully this will give him a boost and get him playing as good as we know he can, much better than last year basically.

New season starts tomorrow (Sunday for us).

I hope we get off to a flyer and start with a good win against Fulham.

I think that just about covers everything.

gallas is still a cunt, mind.

Yes, but the more I think about it the more I realise we need a bit of a cunt. Someone who wants to win, someone who'll shout and demand things from the players.

What the fuck??!!!!!

Only until Jan 2008 though. Surprising move but maybe this new kid is highly rated  . I like Djourou and I hope it's a learning experience rather than a possible permanent transfer.

Damn, I hope we get him back in Jan for when Kolo jets off to the ACN.

Apparently it's likely to be extended for the whole season.

Bruce said he thinks Djourou will be an Arsenal defender for ten years, suggesting there's little chance of a permanent deal. Thankfully.

The Arsenal website says it's for six months which would make a little sense as Toure and Eboue are off in January, but are we covered until then? I'm not too sure.

Left backs - Clichy / Traore / Gallas / Flamini

Right backs - Sanga / Eboue / Hoyte

Centre backs - Gallas / Toure / Senderos / Nordvet / Sagna / Gilberto

We seem to be covered at RB, barely covered at LB and not really covered at CB.

Could this mean we are about to buy a CB? Curtis Davies???

Eduardo to have fitness test tomorrow (ankle)

From Arsene:

“Certainly I would not be scared to play him. Maybe he will need a little bit of time but he is a fighter. He has the ability to score goals, he is quick and a team player so you are never scared to put in these players.”

Confidence or bluff? I would like to think the former. Having seen him in pre-season I'm not sure he's going to take too long bedding in to the premiership, especially playing along side RVP.

I honestly can't believe that Jens did that, the fucking MORON.

One of those things. He might pay for it if we don't win.

Hleb is a different player. Really dangerous. So silky :) .

Eboue is the ultimate give and go merchant. Looks dangerous.

At least we half fancy a shot, that's a a start.
