Fucking scary stuff about Cesc.

Thank fuck he showed us a bit of loyalty and decided to stick around, for hopefully a long while yet.

Henry going is a blow, but one we can recover from but if Cesc went i'm not too sure we could cope, probably not. It would almost be as bad as Wenger going.

I hope this means Wenger has told Cesc he will extend his contract and Wenger is just doing what he normally does and is waiting until there is about six months or so left before signing a new one.

Why he does it like that and shits us all up in the process I don't know.

Something i've been thinking recently. Our wage bill must be absolutely tiny compared to our rivals and compared to our own of say two or three years ago. Recent big earners who have left include Henry (100k a week?), Pires(50-70k?), Vieria (70k?), Campbell (80k?), Dennis (50k?). Even quite big earners like Lauren and that Chelsea cunt have gone. Who is our top earner now? Gallas gets 90k apparently as that's what he got at Chelsea and wanted the same. Can't see Gilberto or Toure or Lehman getting that much. Cesc probably gets a decent wage but nothing as high as 90k I guess. Freddie gets 70k apparently and may leave so further reducing the wage bill. This must be saving us some serious money.

What are they doing with all this bloody money? Spend it! We still need one more signing, a left winger if Reyes and Freddie leave. That would leave Hleb/Eboue/Walcott for the right and Rosicky/Van Persie for the left. A natural left footed winger is definitely needed. Shame about Babel, maybe the price scared us off.

I read somewhere recently that even with the new stadium, debt and all, and hardly progressing that far in CL last season we made £20 million more than we did in the last year at Highbury.

Add that to the money we seem to be saving from the wage bill (see Daleys post for details) and the money we are making from the in out transfers so far this summer, even if you add the TV money and money from the CL next season as well as the extra income from The Emirates surely we have money to spend. Now that Cesc has commited to Arsenal, and hopefully Wenger will follow soon, I think we will be buying another player or two even.

I am actually looking forward to next season and think we can improve on last year. (as long as we do make a couple more signngs that is)

Mathieu Flamini has had a change of heart and told Arsene Wenger that he is willing to fight for his place this season.

That's the spirit, for fucks sake. Let's start this season with a bit of bottle. If we put a good run together this team can go places. I really hope they all realise what they can achieve and go for it like men.

Jesus, I'm flitting between utter excitement and excruciating despair on a daily basis! Come on new season, where are yo?

i'm a bit pissed off that cesc is so brazenly saying 'yeah, i was talking to madrid and i thought about it'. it's a bit like having some horrible sleazy cunt call your girlfriend up all the time and her assuring you that there's nothing in it. thing is, we all know that one day we'll come back from a hard day's work to see calderon kicking her back doors in, and there'll be NOTHING WE CAN DO ABOUT IT.

I'm the same.

My daily thought process:

9am: Shit we're fucked, we need some signings.

10am: Nah we'll be ok, Henry was finished anyway.

11am: I tell you what, if we start well and get a bit of luck with injuries we could really do well.

12am: If Van Persie can stay fit and score like last year with Cesc running the show behind him we can challenge for the title.

1pm, usually after Liverpool have announced another signing, their millionth of the summer: Shit we're fucked, we need some signings.

Real Madrid have sent Jose Antonio Reyes back to Arsenal after the two clubs were unable to agree a fee, according to reports in Spain.

I'd really appreciate him giving it one last go, even if it's just putting himself in the shop window. With Henry gone it could be slightly different.

Fucking hell.

I know we need a left sided midfielder and Reyes could certainly do the job but unfortunately he's made it clear that he doesn't like the food in England, he doesn't like the weather in England and he doesn't particularly want to play for Arsenal.

It can only be a good thing if Reyes is properly up for it and properly wants to play for us and not to put himself in the shop window.

What's the point of him playing for us and playing well only for him to leave in the January transfer window.

He should either come back and give it a proper go or fuck off.

Great, we get a moaning twat who liked slagging off Arsenal back at a time when things are already a little fragile. At least Gallas will have good company.

He's a dimwit though. I'd cut him some slack. When he arrived he was on his own and I genuinely think Henry made it hard, especially after that Spanish racism row. He's was on a hiding to nothing. With Cesc and Fran it might be rosier.

He would have to mend some bridges though.

Anyway, can't see him coming back to play for us.

The worst thing about it from an Arsenal perspective is he is cracking player. When he wasn't sitting on his arse grinning like a loon or moaning about the weather, food, being kicked by defenders and country in general he looked great. I think he has bags of talent and had he been able to settle in over here I reckon he'd be one of your top performers now.

If he ends up back with you this season I think the fans should forgive him and try and get behind him because if he has a good season the worst thing that'll happen as a result is he'll get his move back to Spain and Arsenal will get a decent amount of money. Surely that beats him being sold for a pittance to whoever will take him now.

ok fair enough, but where would that leave Arsenal if one of our players left halfway through the season and so far he'd been playing well enough to add a few million quid onto his value.

The only way I'd be happy to have him back is if he was willing to give it another proper go.

He could actually do well on our new big pitch.

Freddie's a top man and in his red hair days he was superb.

It's just that those days are gone and I don't think he's good enough anymore.

A bit sad, but 5.5 or £6mill whatever it is, is good money and if it's on offer we should definitely take it.

Reyes was quality when he was with us, i'd love him to come back and give it another go now in the new look arsenal side. With most of the old big names gone he might feel able to express himself more and we all know he has bags of talent maybe his representatives are telling him the wrong things?
