From BBC gossip:

American sports tycoon Stan Kroenke has requested a meeting with Arsenal's board to discuss the future of the club. (Daily Telegraph)

Wouldn't mind a billionaire owner. I have a feeling he will takeover the club and Dein will be back as Chairman/Vice Chairman. It was Dein who set the links up between Kroenke & Arsenal in the first place.

You heard it here first :)

What's the current opinion about Kronke now? His offer to bankroll any transfers we want/need this summer says a lot about his sincerity and now that the supporters trust also back his financial aims and plans, surely the time is perfect to let him on board?

It would be worth 22 million just to see Fat Sam's head explode :)

I can't see Owen working out for Arsenal, he gives a team absolutely nothing outside the box and some of his explosive pace is clearly gone. Besides which you're lucky now if you get 20 league games out of him at full fitness (and he's never scored 20 league goals in a season as a result). Anelka's top class and I can see him slotting straight back in.

I think Pires' decline and then sale has left maybe the biggest hole. Replacing that amount of goals from midfield is really difficult.

Is it funny or is there some truth?

So Boro are a better Club to be at than Arsenal? Laters, Jeremie. See you in the Carling with a new batch of Gooner kids.

Jeremie Aliadiere predicts Thierry Henry is only the first of a long list of Arsenal stars set to leave the club. Henry quit The Gunners for Barcelona while Aliadiere will finalise a £2million move to Middlesbrough later this week.

"No one knows if Wenger is staying or going. If he leaves there are going to be a lot of players that would go too."

"I think I've left at the right time with all that is going on. I don't think the club is on it's way up at the moment. But Middlesbrough is a team that is."

ha ha, what a wasteman.

I don't think Arsenal need anything outside the box at the moment, they just desperately need someone who knows what to do with the ball at their feet in the six yard box*. I don't particularly want Owen though - both because he seems a little too cursed and because being sold from Newcastle as soon as he got fit wouldn't do his confidence much good at all I don't think, even if it was to head towards a top four team.

Mind, I don't want Anelka either.

Martins and Huntelaar would be very good I think...

*In case you were wondering, the answer to this isn't "Pass"

I want Wenger to suprise us. No Owen's or Anelka's. I want a new name, a new legend. I am obviously gutted that Henry is off but also a little excited. It is the beginning of a new era, a new team. The Invincibles era is now truly over and maybe I am a misguided fool but I have 100% faith in Wenger and am hopeful for the future.

EDIT: And i'm not changing my sig.

As long as wenger stays i'll be happy. Carlos Vela is supposed to be a top prospect although he's too young to make an impact at the moment. I'd go with owen for now as he would give us a few good years which would give the other strikers like Walcott and bendtner time to come through.

Even in his prime at Liverpool he was barely capable of staying fit for longer than a few months at a time.

Definitely not Owen. While the rumours are floating around that he is available for £9m due to a buyout clause in his contract he is too injury prone and his wages would be massive. If it must be a player from the Premier League I would prefer Martins who apparently has a £13m buyout clause.

Back of the Evening Standard says Wenger will "demand" that Dein is brought back to the club before he signs a new contract.

No, I'm not in favour of Owen either.

I'll be honest, Anelka might not be the worst option. He'll hit the ground running, he's quick and scores all kinds of goals. He's a bit like Henry really and the original wonderkid Wenger wanted to groom. The problems in the past were immaturity and his brothers.

Yeah, I read that somewhere. I've said a few times that it would be a wise move. At the moment everything appears to be falling apart.

I would agree that Anelka would be preferable to Owen but still wouldn't have him. 28 years old and £11m. No thanks. I very much doubt that Wenger will go there. A 15 year old won't do this time now though. Someone ready to play now is what is needed.

Don't believe they hype. Nothing is falling apart. Wenger didn't have to sell, he decides who goes and who doesn't and he has rarely been wrong thus far.

I'd like to see if wenger could persuade Reyes to come back. Him and RVP up front would be good and both of them can play on the left. You never know, wenger could persuade reyes to stay and he could do a Ronaldo and have a great season. Heres for dreaming!

Yeah, and that could be Anelka IMO. £11m is not, I'm very much afraid, big money. We shouldn't be scared of paying that. You'll easily get four years from Anelka. I can't think of any players we could get in to be honest. Martins might or might not be the answer. Someone from Spain? You're possibly looking at year to settle in. A youngster, as you said, is not what we need either. With Anelka you get a strong player who knows the game over here and would fit in with the team.

I'm advocating it 100%, but it's an option.

Exactly, it was the same with Vieira. Wenger isn't afraid to make a big decision. I'm pretty sure he could have kept hold of Henry but the team really needs to press on now.

Behind the scenes though, it feels wrong. That's what I mean. Plus there's this American business.

Wenger speaks:

"Thierry has been tremendous for us since he arrived in 1999. He has excelled both as part of a team and individually. In short, he has become an Arsenal legend.

“Personally, I would like to thank Thierry for the huge contribution he has made to the Club's success over the past eight years. To his great credit, he has mixed skill and style together with an appetite for winning. This wonderful combination was integral to our historical 49 games unbeaten run and all the honours he won at Arsenal, together with Thierry becoming the Club's record goal scorer - an achievement which in my view is unlikely to be surpassed.

“It was Thierry's decision to leave Arsenal but he goes with my blessing. On behalf of everyone at the Club, we wish him the very best for the future."

It's a done deal. See ya Thierry. Thanks for everything.

Hell no man, Reyes has absolutely 0% loyalty or commitment to Arsenal – he's practically begging any team in Spain to sign him.

He's turns into a wonderkid in 2009 if you train him right.

If Reyes wasn't a weirdo gypsy that couldn't live anywhere except for Spain, I'm sure many Arsenal fans wouldn't mind having him back. The lad, when he was on his feet, was a great talent. Damn shame he is a weirdo gypsy.

I've been thinking of this Henry sale. Not that I'm that fussed he's gone, for a variety of reasons. But have we been dicked over the price or what? £16m for a player of that status and quality? I think there's someone not quite right upstairs, personally.

Just read this on sky sports...

It has been confirmed that the release clause in Henry's contract with Barcelona is €125million (£84.2million.)

For some reason it made me lol. A wee bit crazy.
