Repeated fouling/shirt pulling on transitions and no yellow cards either. The quality of the referees and the lack of VAR is a great throwback.

Just happy for this Arsenal team to beat Chelsea again.

Emma Hayes crying about time wasting is the cherry on top of the delicious Continental cake.

I hope we can work out a way to keep Nelson around as I will always maintain he has something pretty special about him. I don't think he'll ever be a constant menace like Saka, but his input is often decisive and he has proven he can put the numbers up when he stays fit. That's a rare commodity. Weirdly too he seems to have suffered the total opposite problem most lads of his age have and has been completely lacking in confidence. However it pans out he's won us six points this season which could be Manninger levels of importance come May.

What struck me was how calm he was in that moment, controlled the ball with his chest, it dropped to his right where he shifted it to his left with a delightful touch, waited a beat until the angle opened up and then lashed it home with a perfect finish. Even celebrating he was the calmest man on the pitch. Really hope it works out for him.

On the limited amount you get to see of Nelson he seems in that squad player camp for a team at our level, but would be a starter for sure in the lower half of the table.

He may have a run of games/goals in him as WIllock showed at Newcastle, and even Nketiah who feels even closer to being a top level starter whilst probably falling a bit short at present at the highest level.

Not sure Nelson would want a year now, he needs minutes on the pitch which will probably mean a move for him, unless he's willing to put up with a lot of time on the bench.

Apparently teams came in for him in Jan and he said he wanted to stay and fight for a new contract. Hopefully he'll get a few more opportunities to show us what he can do before the end of the season. I think he looks like he has a higher ceiling than Willock.

Nagelsmann spoke about him as being in the bracket of Messi and Robben when he had him. Now I know that is talking about potential and the majority of young players never reach the level predicted of them, but it wasn't long ago he was being spoken about as being one of the best talents in European football, but he's in our squad right now. I think it pains Arteta sometimes that he hasn't been able to play Eddie and Reiss more, but who are you leaving out when we're winning? Basically I think we have a lot to gain by keeping him, and for me there's no downside to tying him down for a few years.

I've no real reason to hate Sporting but with all this moaning to the ref, let me tell you: I hate 'em!

Must be something in the water, Utd’s assistant to the referee came from there didn’t he ?

His rep was as the best shot stopper in the US, but his flapping at crosses, poor kicking and Pickford like habit of patting things out to strikers makes him very unreliable.

Man City don’t seem to be playing before International break so if Arsenal win this and beat Palace next week they’ll take an 8 point lead into April.

The Man City play Liverpool at home which could be interesting depending what Liverpool turn up.

I think Paulinha a big miss for them today as they've been so passive, but we've done exactly what was required and looked very solid in doing so - really highlights today what a decent bit of business Trossard was.

Important to not only win today but remove the madness of last gasp exciting wins in goalfests.

Still don't think I'll believe we're in a title race even if 5 points ahead on last day of the season.

Didn't realise how big a signing Trossard was at the time but he was superb again today - drifting all over the pitch and making all three goals.

I love that everyone assumed he was brought in to be a reliable squad player and he's genuinely played to a level where he can cause selection headaches.

Getting my fan pessimistic head on I see 2 scenarios where we lose this.

The first one is Liverpool wake up and Firminho pads out his meagre goalscoring record further & we lose to City in April, going into a tailspin until the end of the season.

If we get decent results away in April then the PL, at the behest of Man City's legal team, will appoint football Farage Dick Keyes who will rush in emergency legislation penalising teams with a 20 point deduction for what he deems to be over celebrating goals or wins.

Both seem quite likely to me.

Anfield and Etihad away games are massive. But Chelsea are scoring goals again, as are Newcastle and I can still see us slipping up against some one in the relegation battle.

Basically - I won't believe we can win it until after we have, if we do, which I don't think we will.

STOP IT G WINGS. We must not hope.

Exactly this, last season I dared hope we were getting back into the champions league in order to be knocked out in humiliating fashion by Bayern in Feb and instead we're still pissing about in the Thursday pot.

Never hope for anything nice to happen in football.

Really satisfying considering he was our second choice and under £30m.
