On the postive side I think it signals Arsene not leaving any time soon

In all fairness, I thought that too. I mean, the bloke has integrity and would do his best for the Club even if he was leaving but he does seem to be still building for the future.

Ryan Babel (Ajax), Miguel Veloso (Sporting Lisbon) and Klaas-Jan Huntelaar (Ajax) are all linked with Arsenal and could be signed during next week.

Rumours, naturally.

We've been whining a bit about signings but the last transfer window saw us clinch some deals (in and out) in a short space of time. Thinking about it I wouldn't be surprised if we signed two or three and announced them all together. The three mentioned above would be nice, although I know little about Veloso. Wiki reveals that he's a centre back or defensive midfielder. That leads me to ponder whether Gilberto might leave in the rumoured swap deal with Trezeguet, meaning that Henry might be placated but a move for Huntelaar wouldn't happen. Or maybe Veloso is ear marked for centre back and big Phil goes to Spain. Lots of permutations ;) .

Of course, we have to wait and see. Fucking hell, one day I'm down in the dumps and the next it all seems perfectly sane and under control  .

So according to the usually wrong ANR we are due a big transfer tommorow (to be fair they are only repeating what was said between Barry Silkman and Kirsty Wark on Newsnight)

http://www.arsenalnewsreview.co.uk/news/641/42/

Kirsty : "When are you going to clinch the Arsenal deal?"

Barry : "Hopefully, on Tuesday."

Kirsty : "Watch this space."

Also mentioned on the site is some speculation regarding who Barry Silverman represents (and thus who could be the transfer in question)

So Barry Silkman represents: Yakubu, Rochamback, Geremi, Shwarzer, Boeteng, Viduka and Eyal Berkovic. [so Yakubu could be a possibility]

One Gooner emailed to say. Barry Silkman represents SFX. SFX represents Michael Owen. And Newcastle are looking to land Freddie Kanoute.

My guess?.....nothing will happen.

Sounds like a load of bollocks to me.

Surely now the LA Liga has finished it could get interesting, or maybe it will be shit like this until July the 1st.

Encouraging quote about the new 12 year old we've 'signed'.

The Norwegian first division is far more physical than our Premier League so its not usual for 16 year olds to play regulary. Our national team trainer, Åge Hareide, has just called him our biggest talent ever so I believe this could be a real bargain.

Aftenposten reported: The young talent, 17, had also been sought by Manchester United, Tottenham and Real Madrid, according to the newspaper.

Nordtveit joins Arsenal on July 2nd, and will therefore be able to take part in the club's tour of Asia [?]

It's just a shame that he doesn't want to come back and play for us.

True. I think with the right frame of mind he'd be great for us. Not gonna happen. I don't think Henry helped the situation, and possibly that racist bit with the Spanish coach.

That one won't go away, will it?

Never gonna happen, though.

Oi, I'm just passing on rumours!

I know, I only replied because it is a funny one; there is absolutely no chance of it happening, yet some deluded Liverpool fans really are convinced it will. The odds have been slashed down to 7-4 as of last week and I've had about 9 texts through saying he was completing his medical on such and such a date.

You guys worried about the rumour of Wenger being lined up as the new Barca manager?

Not really. I believe he'll honor his current contract which means he should be with us next season. After that, who knows?
