Think i may get theo or V persie on my one

Just to clarify, Arsenal have released a picture of their best players sat waiting for a train with a sign saying "Way Out" above their heads?

Thank God there aren't any transfer rumours related to any of them, eh?

Just listened to talk sport they spoke to his agent complete lies(the reason i took this at all seriously is because one of the writers on the site has/had close links to the french contigent at Arsenal) As for Henry my manager is a Season ticket holder and he tells me that most of the people he sits with think that hes off this year(ive worked with him for a few years but he has never taken the rumours seriously until now.)

some french site claims that henry is going to barca(dont speak french so not sure exactly what it says)link

It says this..

According to France Football, Thierry Henry has signed a 3 year deal with Barcelona.

The widely respected French football daily reports that Barça have agreed to pay Arsenal €25 million and that he will be paid €10 million a year, 40% more than what he currently earns at Arsenal.

Henry has signed a 3 year deal which includes an option of an extra year at the end of the contract.

All that now remains is for Arsenal to agree to let their talismanic captain leave as this deal is only between Barça and Henry, not Barça and Arsenal.

Rather odd, to say the least. How can you sign a deal without your Club agreeing it? The shit would surely hit the fan big time.

There are few season ticket holders on here, including me. Everyone in the ground has their opinion but until I read it on arsenal.com I don't believe anything.

HENRY REPORT PROMPTS LEGAL THREAT

Posted 11/06/07 22:06

EmailPrintSave

Thierry Henry's agent will "seek legal advice" after France Football magazine published a report that the player has agreed terms with Barcelona.

The Arsenal star's future has been the subject of speculation again this summer despite him signing a four-year contract with the Gunners last year.

But his agent Jerome Anderson was categoric in denying the magazine's claims.

In a statement, he said: "No meetings have ever taken place between Jerome Anderson and Barcelona in France or anywhere else, and Jerome Anderson will be seeking legal advice against France Football."

The report claims Anderson and Barca sporting director Txiki Beguiristain spoke last week regarding a three-year deal with an option of a fourth year, a claim Anderson has now strongly denied.

Last week Henry told ESPN that it was "great to hear" reports of interest in him from European champions AC Milan, but stressed: "I am an Arsenal player at the moment."

Henry went on to say he had been "devastated" by the departure of vice-chairman David Dein, who left after a dispute with his fellow directors over the increased involvement of American businessman Stan Kroenke.

"The bosses have been unsettled and a lot of players at the club have been unsettled," he added.

"I was devastated when Mr Dein left the club. I don't know what happened and I don't want to know but whatever went on, Mr Dein leaving was not a clever move.

"Although no-one is bigger than the club, Arsene Wenger and Mr Dein are really close to being Arsenal.

"So if you ask me if there was one person on the board I would not like to see leaving, I would have said Mr Dein.

"Unfortunately it is out of my hands. I don't agree with what has happened but sometimes that's the way things are. We just have to move on."

Barca were linked with the player last summer before he signed his new contract with Arsenal, and Beguiristain was quoted in the English press saying his club were still monitoring Henry's situation.

"If he has the desire to play here, then we can see if it's going to happen or not," Beguiristain told the Sunday Express.

"Barcelona remains the same. It is the perfect place for players who want to come here. I always say the same thing - it's down to the players to decide."

Oooooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, I fucking love this!!!

Edit: If you read BBC sport the rest if the statement includes the words:

"But Jeff Weston, from the SEM Group which looks after Henry, told BBC Sport: "No such meeting took place. That is absolute rubbish.

"There's never been any question of him not being at Arsenal next season."

Henry, 29, signed a new four-year contract with the Gunners last year but appeared to cast doubt on his future last week when he said he was flattered by interest from AC Milan.

The European champions and Barcelona have both publically declared their interest in the player.

France Football claims Henry's agent Jerome Anderson has agreed a three-year deal, worth £6.78m (10m euros) a season, with Barcelona, with an option of a fourth year.

"It is all just media speculation, as it was last year, and the year before," Weston added of the latest reports.

Anderson is so furious with the report that he is "seeking legal advice against France Football". "

I would love it if the shits who ran this story got sued and hurt bad. I'm all for some crazy transfer rumours over the summer and I understand that just about every big player at every club is subject to a rumour or two but this shit with Henry has gone a bit too far.

How likley is this legal action really though? I haven't clue.

I'd say extremely unlikely and there is probably some truth in it. I reckon agents, players and Clubs are at it not stop, even if it might be reported in an exaggerated way, eg meetings that didn't happen.

The hissy fit over Dein (I can understand his feelings but not in such a public way), the refusal to categorically deny rumours etc. are a bit unfair on Henry's part. One carefully constructed sentence stops every rumour stone dead. I wouldn't necessarily blame him for wanting to leave a Club with apparently zero ambition in the transfer market. I'd just like closure either way.

EDIT: This is what I mean..

"Nothing is done. I repeat, nothing," Henry told L'Equipe.

"At this moment I am an Arsenal player and in the same situation as I was last year.

"Last season people were announcing all over the place that I was leaving. Some people wrote that it would happen for sure but at the end of the day I stayed at Arsenal. It could be the same this year.

"I've not taken any decision and my name is not up on any departures board. If something happens, I will tell everybody."

Interesting article. Skim over the initial figures if you're not the reading type  . I'm not saying it's necessarily fact, but it highlights the financial situation our Clubs find themselves in.

The Glasers will have to sell Manchester United as the current business plan is unsustainable (and away tickets at Old Trafford will be rising dramatically to boot). By our financial correspondent (with thanks to the Arsenal Supporters Trust).

MUFC was purchased in June 2005 and 14 months later the acquisition debt was refinanced and put on a longer term basis. The refinancing itself cost at least £40m (consisting of debt issue costs written off and early redemption penalties)

MUFC now has £575m of senior debt facilities in place arranged by JP Morgan and also £138m PIK Loan (payment in kind) lent by a variety of hedge funds. The latter loan has interested rolled up (i.e. not paid) and is accruing at 14.25% pa.

The senior debt facilities have a variety of maturities ranging from 2013-2016 although most of the principal of these loans is heavily backed end with repayments mainly in the latter years - i.e. after the end of the current 5 year growth plan at MUFC (2007-2012). This 5 year plan has steep ticket price increases at the core of the revenue growth plan [there was a 12.5% increase across the Board for this season it was forecast that prices would go up 2.5% this summer (actual increases were between 8-14%) and then rise at 5% pa for 4 summers before a "one-time increase of 9.5% for all categories of seats" in the summer or 2012]

The football profit in the last reported figures was £30m but this was before any debt service. After debt service the wider business reported a loss of £138m. Interest of £90m was paid in the year to June 2006. Even after the refinancing, the annual interest to be paid is £60m which is circa 85% of total matchday revenue (and the PIK Loan is not being serviced - this will have reached approximately £350m at maturity in 2017!). New player purchases are funded from within these debt facilities - part of the "speculate to accumulate" philosophy.

UNLESS MUFC ARE SOLD AGAIN IN THE NEAR FUTURE THESE DEBT FACILITIES WILL HAVE TO BE REFINANCED AGAIN AS THERE IS NO WAY THE CURRENT BUSINESS MODEL CAN REPAY THESE LOANS - IT CAN SERVICE THEM (JUST) BUT CANNOT REPAY THEM.

Statement by the Arsenal Supporters Trust:

"The Arsenal Supporters' Trust has studied carefully the financial situation at Manchester United following their takeover by Malcolm Glazer. We are clear that we do not want a similar scenario repeated at Arsenal. The level of borrowing at Manchester United is staggering. It cannot be sustainable for a club to have debts of £660million and to be extracting so much profit for repayments. The borrowing at Arsenal has been sensibly placed against income earning assets such as the Emirates stadium.

"The AST believes that football clubs need stability in their ownership structures. Our preference is for investment by shareholders rather than the taking out of debt. We would judge any possible change in ownership on this criteria. We would not support a takeover that placed the club into severe acquisition led debt".

What Gallas actually said on his website was this :

"I have got some personal targets for next season, which are the same as the team's objectives. I am hungry to win matches and titles. Once you reach the age of 30 the best moments come when you lift a trophy.

"I hope that Arsenal will fine-tune their squad, by making high-quality signings. And as far as departures are concerned, if certain players want to go, we should not prevent them from leaving.

"I am proud to take on the role of one of the club's senior players. I talk to the youngsters, and give them advice. I've begun playing the big brother role with the numerous young players, and I am happy to do so. I am almost 30, and you have to pass on your experience to the young ones.

"Last season has been a transitional period for me. I arrived at Arsenal, and had to adapt to a new club and new teammates. I was out injured for three months, but still did not give up. I am a warrior, and I battle all the time.

"I needed to disregard a whole host of matters, and I reckon I have come through it all pretty well."

As for Henry saying that 'we' are in the same position as last years (e.g. that nothing has been decided, he wil let us know when it is) - surely he can't be serious? Last year he was signing a new contract, this year he has 3 years left to serve and has no right to make these sort of statements.

And I hope the stories about Trezugeut are bollocks as well, we don't need another striker who will probably fuck off as soon as Henry does.

I was initially gutted that Henry could be leaving but his recent statements have really fucked me off. He has had chances to categorically commit himself to the club but only his agent has done so (and he could well end up with egg on his face). There's an excellent Jon Nicholson article on football365.com about this - 'better to say goodbye standing than live on your knees'.

That guy is a huge Arsenal hater and I don't recall him ever saying anything positive about Arsenal but that is a pretty decent piece which I agree with. Here's the link: http://www.football365.com/john_nicholson/...2253596,00.html

Nobody is bigger than the club. Nobody.

EDIT: Dude, where did you find that piece about the Glazer's above?

Dear god that's foul!

Did they make it so people would hate this one more then the white one (which I'm fairly indifferent to)?

Edit: Maybe I'm overreacting and that's just a bit of a shit photo of the thing but...urgh, I just don't like it.
