Malcolm is young with potential and I have no view of him

I bought him on Football Manager for a lot of money last year and he was a horrible disappointment and his stats never improved.  Bit like the real life versions of Theo, Ox, Chambers, Holding etc etc etc etc.

Its such a cheap joke bit did you play him on the wings or in the middle ?

there is actually an argument now that if Wenger isn't leaving we should just sign players in their late 20s  as they won't get coached or taught anything, that is patently obvious - just sign experience and chuck them on the pitch with a 'do your thing' message.

our reputation for improving young talent is long gone.

Sanchez to Man U is just so depressing and shows just how little players care about their clubs or fans.

Between the players, Wenger’s blindness to his own diminished abilities  and an absent owner I’m finding myself trying to distance myself from the club more and more. It just feels like such hard work to be a supporter for so little joy.

it is quite hard work at the moment - I'm taking a long term view though and means I should be able to improve my season tix seats at end of season with a bit of disgruntled fan turnover

I watched his press conf this morning - he said he expects Sanchez/Mihkyt deal to happen in next 24/48h but its not 100%, and Aubamyang and Malcolm are nowhere near.

good point imagine a team with both of them in standing on the halfway line looking back at what is going on in our area.

on the other we hand at least we have those disciplined central midfielders like Ramsey & Xhaka who keep possession really well and don't just vacate midfield at the drop of a hat.

Mkhitaryan could at least get something out of Lacazette, at the very least he may actually try to pass to him, unlike Sanchez who has clearly decided he is shit (along with most of his other team mates who he also doesn't pass to)

our window could be taking on its more traditional look.

Wenger says we can't compete financially with the big clubs so have to do things a different way, we pull out of talks with Bordeaux/Malcom cos he's too inexperienced (who are we meant to go for then if the big stars are out of our reach ?) then Spurs could be coming back in for Malcom.

we're a shower at the moment off the pitch.

interesting first half - not making any silly claims that we're better off without him but several players did seem to have a bit of freedom about them today and weren't obliged to always pass to an angry scowling Chilean.

the early early goals stoped the stadium going toxic, for today anyway.

it was helped by a strangely out of sorts and static Palace team, who has the look of a Pulis team that had hit 40pts in the league.

Looks like the swap deal is almost done with the agents now paid enough millions to stop being a barrier.

Watching wenger dealing with this over the last few days has been interesting. Not least: "He didn't play because you cannot drive up north and play football at the same time,"

I can’t imagine wenger being so open about transfers in the past. Seems like he’s accepting/beaten by the mercenary nature of players.

Gallas/Cole was a swap deal wasn't it?

Player plus £5m.

Lacazette looked so much better yesterday, nice to see the others looking for him too.

Ozil and Wilshire have to sign new contracts, they were both fantastic yesterday.

Is the Sanchez/Mkirtarayan(?) deal a straight swap then?

The Baptista loan had something to do with Reyes too didn't it?

Guys, remember Emmanuel Frimpong?

I don’t have a point to make. He just popped into my head. He literally played in the Arsenal first team. And he’s currently plying his trade in the Cypriot First Division.

I don’t know why.

yesterday: we could have gone to the game, plenty of seats available for RMs.

but he had a birthday party, so...

Sold my ticket on ticket exchange. No regrets.  I've been selling every ticket that's eligible & only been to about 5 games at the Emirates all season.

Official line from Ornstein is it's a straight swap, although I have seen some stuff from other journos and Twitter ITKs that suggest Arsenal are actually getting some money on top (about £10m is the figure being quoted, plus some extra for Mkhi and Raiola), it's just Raiola didn't want that being public knowledge as I guess it makes Mkhi look like a bit of a bum.

I think it's a good deal for all parties really. I'm not convinced about Mkhitaryan's suitability for this league but if we have got him for ~£20m that's a great price in this market. ~£35m for a guy who by all accounts is a pain in the arse and who could have gone for free in a couple of weeks is obviously good business (not that we should have ever let it get to that scenario of course). Man Utd get a great player and they don't give a fuck about the money (though I do wonder if they've really considered the implications of Alexis' vast salary on their wage bill; there's already been talk of Pogba wanting parity in the summer, for instance). And Alexis and his agent get an absolutely insane wedge out the whole thing.

I think most people are trying to take some comfort in trying to convince themselves that this United flop will be a good signing.

I'm definitely not convinced.  If he was that good then he wouldn't be coming to Arsenal anyway.

He looked really good at Dortmund but I gather he’s been very inconsistent at Utd. Still think he’s good value though if it’s true that we got him + £10m for Alexis. He’s no world beater but he’s an upgrade on Iwobi right now. Clearly didn’t have Mourinho’s confidence so you can see why he’d have wanted out.
