I don't think I've ever felt so disengaged as an Arsenal fan. I just couldn't give a fuck. I haven't seen a game all season and I can't see that changing. I can muster enthusiasm for the aftv meltdowns and that's all I can handle tbh.

It's been said a bajillion times already but it really is the manner of our failure that gets to me. The lack of excitement is killing me.

I'm going to the Bournemouth game, and am still looking forward to it, for the most part; we always get the train into to Angel (I live outside London), grab something to eat, wander up Upper Street having a few drinks, then repeat/reverse after the game. It's a cracking day, generally. Beyond that I'm in the same boat - I'm not actually looking forward to the football bit at all. If we don't go into the break with a lead I'm expecting a thoroughly poisonous atmosphere, which is something I always find intensely frustrating.

For further evidence of my malaise, I've just been offered tickets to the next two home games after Bournemouth as well, but both are weekday fixtures (Cologne on a Thursday, West Brom on a Monday), and I just can't be bothered with the hassle, especially as both will be on TV.

Cologne?  Oh yes, I forgot we had the delights of Thursday night football.  I won't be going as Thursday is my gym night so I won't be wasting my evening sat in a half empty Stadium watching that load of dog shit.

Having said that, I think Wenger should take the competition very seriously as it would be a nice trophy to win, but I think he will treat the competition as a bit of a nuisance so I fully expect him to field weakened sides.

Does the Winner of the Europa Cup get into the Champions League still? I know that's how Many Utd got in this season but I can never keep up with all the rules.

Even if not, it's still a trophy.

Yes I think you get CL qualification if you win it.  Our European trophy count is nothing to write home about so winning the thing would raise the status of the club a little bit.  Anyway, I should stop dreaming as we're in for a rotten season.

People's enthusiasm and rage has largely been sapped away I think by that new two year contract. Seemed like there was very little fuss from the crowd at Anfield, just a resigned shrug of the shoulders, and who can blame them? What's the point getting angry about the manager when everyone knows it doesn't make the slightest bit of difference?

Same. Had the chance to see the Bournemouth game but I can think of much better uses of my money.

Whilst it's a shame you won't be attending, maybe it's going to be an embarrassingly large number of empty seats for 'lesser' league & cup games that forces change?  If match day revenue drops they will start to panic as they only give a toss about how much money they make.  The moment revenue drops change will have to happen, surely?

Or they will flog a few players to make up the shortfall of course.  This is Arsenal Football Club after all.

I can always be bothered with a 3pm Saturday KO, whoever the opposition in the league, its a nice afternoon out, stroll up from the station, wander back, home at a reasonable time etc.

The Thursday pot though is another matter, sod 8pm midweek ko's.

Empty seats shouldn't be confused with unsold seats though, our relatively affluent season ticket holder base (which I include myself in) doesn't always have to be bothered to sell tickets on for games we can't be bothered to go to.

Nice to win, nice to get a clean sheet but not a day to learn much, Bournmouth were abject.

Welbecks first was very 'him' but his second was a lovely finish, which I find hard to admit.

Second was a lovey finish from lacazette, out of nothing.

Ramsey usual performance of misplaced passes, ill advised flicks, he was just lucky that bounemouth atood off and let us do what we wanted until we got 3 up.

Alexis introduction met with 50/50 split of cheers and boos.

Nice to get a comfy win but I'm not showing any enthusiasm for the team until after the chelsea visit next week, they don't deserve it yet.

September has like, 5 games in two weeks, right?

7 in 3 weeks

ok, discard the 2 Europa ties and the league cup games (he'll play weakened sides anyway), and that leaves 4 league games,  starting on 9th, ending on the 1st october

AFC Bournemouth H

Chelsea A

West Brom H

Brighton AHA H

8/9 points, or wenger out?

I've got tickets for me and the boy for BHA. Could be wengers last game in charge. ;)

Sunday game, midday kick off, following Europa action on Thursday. Couldn't give us 4pm, could they?
