I think the non-champions league effect on inbound transfers is a little exaggerated. It might lead to having to pay extra wages/sign-on to sweeten any potential deals but the London factor makes up for it a little aswell. (Im sure there's way more players whose family stay in the south east and the players travel to wherever they play, i probably would if i were them, except the Liverpool/Manchester area).

If Wenger stays (I believe he will) I can see Arsenal tanking the UEFA cup to get out ASAP to avoid all the bullshit, travelling etc and to focus on the league. Theres no way Arsenal will endeavour to win it if Wenger stays even though they will have a team capable of it.

i"m bothered too as somebody who pays for 2 season tickets - sure the price won't go down to reflect we're playing FC Plotz and the Borisov Tractor Factory team in the Thursday pot, and more games on Sunday means way more aggro getting to the games as the main train lines and tubes all do their engineering work around the already flakey sunday service.

At least they did something, which is to be applauded.

I'd say they didn't have much choice. What justification could they have for charging the highest ticket prices in Europe, when we're not even competing in the CL.

Fair point. Is there a waiting list for season tickets at Arsenal?

Yeah, it's huge. I'm not sure on the exact figure, but a colleague told me last week he's been on the list for six years, and is c.48,000 in the queue. I think I've only been it on it for about three years, so I've got a long while yet!

Thing is, you get on the list, you're told you're X* in the list, the a year or two later they offer it to you. Happened to us first time around, back in 2007/2008, but the boy was on his way, so...

*58k-something in our case

on the original letter it was about 62,000-something IIRC (or 87000-ish, both numbers seem familiar), but the waitlist membership number is up in the 1.5mil range.

Its a fuckin mess...

rumours of Ospina playing tomorrow - I really hope that isn't true.

This isn't school sports day where everybody gets a go - its a last chance to salvage a slither of self respect from another weak underperforming season, you don't hand out starts to anybody who either isn't the best in their position or fit to play
