Arsenal

So, looking to next season the way I see it is like this;

These players need to go.

Freddie - superb Arsenal player but the time has come

Reyes - the pikey wants to go let him go

The 'Beast' - surely surely we wont sign him

Aliadiere - simply not good enough

Flamini - he wants to go, fair enough

Song - not completely convinced

Poom or Almunia or both - too many keepers

Senderos - a bit undecided on this but maybe he needs a change

In goal

Lehmann

Almunia / Poom

Fabianski

Mannone

RB

Eboue

Hoyte

LB

Clichy

Traore

CB

Toure

Gallas

Djourou

Senderos - if he is not sold

Gilberto - not a great idea

Connolly - 20 in september, now or never

Centre Mid

Cesc

Gilberto

Diaby

Denilson

Song - unless we sell him

Wide men

Rosicky

Hleb

Walcott

RVP - a bit wasted out wide

Forwards

Henry

RVP

Adebayor

Walcott

Bendtner

That pretty much looks it at the moment.

We seem to have enough keepers, but are they good enough?

Seem to have it covered at full back and they look good enough too.

Not exactly covered at CB especially if we do let Senderos go. Maybe a player like Thuram would be a great signing. Someone who has a lot of experience, has proven quality and maybe doesn't expect to play every week.

Centre mid also looks a bit thin - a bit stuck for names here

Wide men looks to be the most urgent area where we need strengthening - surely Ribery, please.

Forwards, looks strong but I still feel we are missing a certain type of forward, one who is very direct, a box player and is only interested in putting the ball in the back of the net - said it before months ago, Benni McCarthy anyone?

What d'you reckon?

Yes, Ribery.

I think Senderos has got too much stick this season. He was part of a defence that broke the Champion's League record for clean sheets.

He did OK after coming back from a lot of injuries but he's gone backwards. He's not a player you want in possession of the ball and he dives in. Drogba frequently embarrasses him, the fact that he can't get to grips with him at all is pretty grim.

I really like the bloke but I don't think he's the answer. He's at that age where he needs first team football and I'd put him behind Djourou in the pecking order right now.

We definately need a wide man, we don't need another forward. We've got enough keepers and central midfielders. You cant have too big a squad because if everyone is fit players will get pissed off for not playing. i.e Ghaly and alot of midfielders at tottenham

According to The Mail, via the BBC, Freddie has been told he can leave...bigger gossip is that he might be one of 11 players on their way out!

11?

Yeah, but that will include Poom, Aliadiere, Baptista and/or Reyes and a host of other reserve or youth types. I can't imagine it's a first team squad clear out.

It was in the Standard yesterday. The 11 are Freddie, Reyes, Flamini, Almunia, Senderos, Aliadiere, Song, Gilbert (on loan at Cardiff), Baptista, Muamba who has already signed for Birmingham and Lupoli who has already signed for Fiorentina.

Yeah, there you go. Nothing too surprising there, except maybe Senderos. I thought he'd have stuck with him for another year but I think clubs have been sniffing and we're not likely to turn down the cash.

I read that John Terry is to put in a transfer request. I think it'll get sorted and he'll stay but it would be nice to pair him with Gallas.

Don't forget we will lose Toure, Eboue and Adebayor during January / February for the African Nations Cup, so my preference would be to keep Senderos as cover unless Connelly or the Irish lad are ready to step up to the mark.

Pacy wide man is needed though.

This.

Everyone stands by Henry despite the fact he just seems to get paid millions of pounds to do whatever he likes. Why not give the yutes some support?

I think Senderos could be rock solid, a few bad games against Drogba aside, he's usually pretty reliable. He's only 20ish as well.

I wouldnt rate Djourou ahead of Senderos, he let's the ball bounce in front of him and it's got him in trouble a few times.

I don't want senderos to go and i rate him more than djourou. He's just had a bad season, he will get better. Wenger needs a clear out but he also needs to make sure he doesn't make the same mistake as last time and not bring in reinforcements aswell. Babel 6mil sounds good to me

BTW where do you lot thing Bale will end up this summer?

Yeah, that was some embarrassing journalism. All these back page headlines about Wenger and Henry leaving, and then you read on to discover that the basis for this is because that's what Patrick Vieira thinks will happen.

i remember seeing him play for bordeaux against liverpool last this season but didn't notice anythin special to be honest. Anyway we don't need anymore central midfielders but if we did look to strengthen that area i wouldn't be happy with a 23yr old, we need experience.

the prob is that our width comes from the fullbacks, Hleb and Rosicky like to come infield as they both look for the killer pass,it isnt much of a prob on the left flank as henry drifts there but we dont have the same on the right so its unbalanced

In a way but in his prime he was fucking awesome.

Anyway, Gooners. We're gonna win the league next season. Just so you know  .

was awesome??

well he won the scudetto with Juve (pre-stripping) after he left then has just won it again with Inter? Seems like he left with perfect timing ;)

Yeah, although the timing wasn't his choice. Still very good but not the player he was, certainly not over here.
