The club have released a formal statement on the manager's situation. Highly unusual: http://www.arsenal.com/news/news-archive/20170309/comment-from-Arsenal-chairman

Arsène has a contract until the end of the season. Any decisions will be made by us mutually and communicated at the right time in the right way

Arsène has a contract until the end of the season. We'll try to make it look like it was mutual when he goes. At the end of the season.

You can interpret it lots of ways as it's extremely vague. Another way of reading it is "We want him to stay, he wants to stay, but we can't announce anything right now because all the raving, entitled AFTV man children will lose their shit".

I don't for one second believe that the board will overrule Wenger though. If he wants to stay, he's staying. It also has that rather dismissive air we've heard from Keswick before with his "Thank you for your interest in our affairs" schtick.

I think Wenger desperately wants to stay, and why wouldn't he? He's paid a fortune here, and is under no real pressure to achieve anything other than a top-four finish. It's been clear for a long time, that he doesn't have it in him to win another league title, so I'm curious as to where he thinks he can take this club moving forward.

I think he'll reluctantly leave at the end of the season, based on the negative fan-feeling towards him. It's reached a point now, where if he stays, we'll be seeing these banners every week. When Sanchez/Ozil leave, the Wenger-out camp will be even more seething towards him.

As far as I can see there's only a couple of justifications for him staying on: we've already sounded out a few guys about taking over and been rebuffed (unlikely); or the club has just assumed he'll sign and have done fuck all about putting into place the various structures needed when AW goes, and now want more time to get their house in order (more likely), in which case a 1 year deal would be sensible (even though it obviously shouldn't have come to that).

I think you do Wenger an injustice saying he just wants to stay because of the money and lack of boardroom pressure though. He quite clearly has a huge amount of passion and affection for the club. He could earn more elsewhere if he wanted and, while the board may not pressure him as much as they should, he certainly feels it from the fans, the media, and himself. Look at how strained he's appeared frequently this season. If he wants to stay at Arsenal I think it's just because he loves the club and doesn't really want to do anything else.

Arsene's exact words to Anthony Taylor that resulted in his ban have now come out: "Fuck off! Fuck off! You are dishonest to your federation."

I've changed my mind, give him a new 5 year deal immediately.

WEXIT.

Changed my mind again, 10 year contract announcement for Arsène immediately please.

Absolutely. No surprise to see SnapBack-wearing divorced dad 'DT' front and centre. Him, that 'Troopz' bellend, all the George Graham fetishists, they can all fuck off.

Protesting against your club's greatest ever manager ffs. Most people want him to leave at this point I think but that is disgraceful and embarrassing beyond belief. Our good pal neoELITE is always on about entitled Arsenal fans: well here they are.

I came in here the other night to say I thought the protest before the Bayern game was shameful,  but decided against it as I didn't want to stir things up. I see they've taken it up a level. I really don't get it. Those Arsenal fan TV knob-heads are enraged because they are completely delusional. Before the Liverpool game Troopz was saying we had one player that would get in the Arsenal side (Mane). It's no wonder he can't handle losing when he believes every team Arsenal are playing is shit.

I completely get the frustration but this sends a very dangerous message to the board. The message being "keep rinsing us, just change the manager". They should have got organised and protested against the ticket prices and the way the club was being run years ago. When they finally do it they're just trying to get the manager sacked. Idiots.
