Saw the highlights now and think their pen super soft, and ours off.

Again though justice served as the team that came not to play at all got what they deserved.

Plus Cech and pens again, he actually jumps out the way of them, Gunnersaurus makes a better effort at half time in the kids shoot out stopping them going in.

The weekend points tally for our title/top 4 rivals

Tottenham 1 point

Liverpool 0 points

Man City 1 point

Man Utd 1 point

Just need the wheels to fall off Chelsea's bus then we can start believing again.  I was hoping that Costa's unrest might be the catalyst to a Chelsea meltdown but, alas, they've picked up a win today (I've heard they were jammy dodgers though!)

It seemed like an absolute certainty that we were going to get screwed over today from the moment Moss sheepishly reached in his pocket to unleash his second straight red of the season on Xhaka.  Absolute relief to escape with 3 points in a game where in previous seasons we'd have ballsed it right up.  Not the first time we've got away with it this season and I'm hoping it's the sort of luck/perseverance that will lead us to a title shot.  Better bust out those Conte/Costa/Snake voodoo dolls guys.

The wheels would have to fall off Chelsea's bus pretty spectacularly seeing as they're on course for 95 points at the moment. Also we're a bit shit.

Does look that way, we're 8 points behind with 16 games left, so even if we win every game for rest of season they have to drop 0.5 points a match and lose their superior goal diff.

We've also got to play them and Liverpool away at start of Feb/Mar - so our traditional poor record in games against title rivals doesn't bode well for a title tilt.

It could be argued that we have the personnel to play that way though - with Mustafi and Per/Gabriel in the conventional centre back roles and Kos allowed to roam forward - Bellerin and Monreal are pretty much wing backs as it is. It would also help alleviate our current central midfield shortage. That said Wenger's not given to changing his formation or tactics to match the opposition (to a fault, perhaps) so I'd be very surprised if he switched to back 5.

that was very impressive, I've never been the biggest fan of Welbeck (don't think he's a starter for a top 4 team) but he looked sharper than I can ever recall him being in this game, Ox is another I don't think is good enough but he looked far more impressive centrally than he usually does out wide, and he bossed the match as opposed to his usual flickers of quality he shows..

Perez too looked very incisive, but so far that has been his season in the lesser game cameo appearances, he doesn't appear to quite have got to grips with the league when he starts, but hopefully he comes good.

Nice to be heading into Feb with players coming back and not our usual injury crisis, though of course that will kick in during the Watford game once the window shuts.

I like Lucas. In any sport you often get players who dominate lesser opponents but struggle vs top opposition (flat track bullies, if you will).

Now, I'm not saying he is one a flat track bully because his La Ligament highlights reel showed him getting stuck into everyon -- but he regularly performs well vs lesser opposition. That's fine by me because in recent years Arsenal often lose vs banana skin teams (Swansea, Dinama Zagreb) but beat say, Bayern or Man City.

Personally, I'm a fan.

Our team is almost 'complete'. Defence and attack are good, depth is solid. Just need to sort our DM's out. I like Coquelin, he does a good job but he is one player we can upgrade on.

this will be on TV for sure, so thats the first payday, suspect they'll find it hard to resist to the lure of a share from a 60k gate, but if there is any romance left in the cup be good to see them hold out and make us play at their ground

Would they be allowed to change venue?

Come to think of it I seem to recall the FA tightening this up actually years ago and making it very difficult to do now - you have to argue on safety grounds rather than financial and aren't just allowed to both agree to do it bilaterally.
