Lacazette is very much just a goalscorer from what I've seen. Bit of a throwback to your Defoe type strikers. All-round play nowhere near what a team like Arsenal needs IMO.

I've not seen much of him, but people have certainly said that.

Morata also doesn't really fit into the Juve system. That's worth noting for his stats too.

Me neither! I started typing a reply to say how I thought he'd do for you and then quickly realised I wasn't really sure. He's a weird one. I'd be surprised to see him just flop over here but at the same time, I wouldn't really be jumping with joy if my club decided to drop £40m on him... probably. I might, actually.

It's all of the penalties, I think. That and our recent hit-rate with strikers.

*ONE FOR THE FUTURE KLAXON*

ARSENAL AGREE DEAL FOR JAPAN FORWARD

Arsenal have agreed a deal in principle to sign young Japanese forward Takuma Asano from Sanfrecce Hiroshima.

The transfer of the 21-year-old Japan international is subject to the completion of a medical and regulatory processes.

A number of clubs were after Takuma’s signature and Arsène Wenger said: “Takuma is a talented young striker and very much one for the future. He has had an impressive start to his career in Japan and we look forward to him developing over the next couple of years.”

Making his full debut for the Japan national team in August 2015, Takuma has made five appearances for his country and is expected to be a part of their squad for the Rio Olympics in August.

Takuma signed for Sanfrecce Hiroshima as an 18-year-old in January 2013 and enjoyed great success with the J-League side, making 56 appearances and scoring 11 goals.

During this time, Takuma won the J1 League in 2013 and 2015, the Japanese Super Cup in 2013, 2014 and 2015, and was voted as the J-League ‘Rookie of the Year’ in 2015.

Don't know much about world football in all honesty so no idea about this signing... I'm going to avoid my inner cynic telling me he's coming to sell shirts and be happy we've signed a striker, even if he is "one for the future".

As far as I can tell from the reporting, Henry wanted to have his cake and eat it, continuing at Sky while also having his U18 coaching role. He's either serious about being a coach or he's not so I really don't see the problem here. He can't continue coaching our U18s as a hobby.

That said, it's entirely possible that the whole thing is just tabloid shit stirring, and Henry was only ever going to be casually involved while he got his badges.

I'm sure it's nothing to do with Henry not being too keen to give up his £4m a year Sky job for something that probably pays less than 10% of that (not that there's anything wrong with that decision).

But I really doubt it's anything more dramatic than simple economics, even though it's fun to talk of bust ups and conspiracies. We help him do his badges, then offer him a full-time coaching role with the U18s. He quite reasonably declines for financial reasons, Adams gets the gig instead, and now here we are. I think the chances of Wenger and Henry having had a fall out over this are slim to none.

But Henry offered to coach for free and split his salary among the other coaches, so it was clearly a case of Wenger wanting him to pack in the Sky job. Who would in his situation? I'm sure clubs will be lining up for his knowledge and experience, whilst allowing him to carry on his media career.

Wenger has always been precious about ex-players criticising anything to do with the club. I thought Adams had been black-listed for that very reason.

It doesn't massively bother me that he's leaving, as I doubt he's a great coach, but it'd be nice not to sour another relationship with a club legend.

Adams has literally just got the U18 coaching job so I don't know where you got the idea he's 'blacklisted' from. Wenger's No2 is Steve Bould, and he's let pretty much all his ex-players get their coaching badges with us. The evidence doesn't really bear out what you're saying here.

"Offered to coach for free" - yeah while retaining his £4m a year Sky job which would undoubtedly cause schedule clashes with the proposed U18 role.

Well it seems like 'Mr Arsenal' has already left the coaching role with the U18s and is off for a lucrative post in China instead.

Hopefully this puts to bed some fans' desire for the club to dish out 'jobs for the boys' willy nilly.

lots of rumours appearing today that we're getting Mahrez for £41m and Wenger met his agent after the Lens game - not sure where we fit him in but loved him as a player last year and think he's a really good fit for us technically as a player, young(ish) too, only 25

Has now been debunked by the Guardian sport deputy editor who says he spoke to Mahrez's agent and he said there's no been no formal interest from Arsenal.

Mahrez's agent was apparently at our game last night though, so who knows. Whilst I actually think as a signing it makes sense, I don't believe for a second we're about to spend £40m+ on a player with one season of top flight football behind him.

I'd love Mahrez at Arsenal but I'm not sure where he would fit into our system, at this moment I'm unsure who played where for us. Does Wenger intend to play Ramsey in the centre with Xhaka in the hope that he plays to the level he did with Arteta? If so does Cazorla move to the right. Or does Ramsey play right, then who plays alongside Xhaka? (who will defo start) Coquelin?
