The management at the club will be delighted with a top four finished for the 2015/16 season as the objective would have been met.  Lots of back slapping and celebrations by the board for another successful season!  Hooray!  As a result of this massive success Wenger gets to keep his job.  As the objectives were met, the board will sanction 1-3 mediocre transfers that hardly set the world alight.  A few players leave (Flamini, Arteta etc) and we actually start the new season with a squad that isn't any stronger than the one that bottled the previous season.

It's funny that people keep trotting out the same old rhetoric that we only sign kids and never established world class players yet over the last 3 years we have signed Ozil, Sanchez, Cech.

It is also fairly funny how many people are losing their shit because we got knocked out of the FA Cup, which according to the same people has meant nothing for the last 2 years but now we are knocked out of it, its being used as a stick to beat the club with.

Knocked out of the Cup at home, bollocksed it right up in a really winnable Prem and no doubt we'll be embarrassed in Spain. Everything is so predictable yet disappointing. Masses of money in the bank, next to no regular quality added to the squad. Problems ignored. Same old excuses in interviews.

It's not good enough and it's absolutely the right time for a change. We should be flying but it's turning a bit sour. Feels a little bit like a sinking ship right now.

Trouble is I can't see Arsene walking and I absolutely cannot see anyone giving him the sack.

Next season is the last year on his current deal, right? One last season for the Arsene Wenger farewell tour and then into the pit to fight for a new head coach against whomever else, surely as long as he keeps the keel even and the course steady it isn't that much of a horrible thought? I can see you guys are all pretty eager for new ideas, but a new manager/head coach can just as easily blow up in your faces as bring renewed vigour.

It's not about getting chucked out FA Cup this season.  We 'lost our shit' long before getting knocked out by Watford.  I personally 'lost my shit' about 6 years ago.

The club's management, Wenger & the players deserve all the criticism they are getting.  In fact they are getting off pretty fucking lightly at the moment.  Wenger embarrassed himself yet again in his post-match interviews which shows the old fool will never change.  He claimed we played well and had a sly dig at Watford for only creating 2 chances.  Two chances is all they needed against a very poor Arsenal side.  Wenger's take on things is just bizarre.  I just wish this has-been would do the honourable thing and leave.

The team is spineless and due to the lack of leadership & quality we've had some shocking results lately and I think the only reason yesterday disappointed so many was because the FA Cup was our only chance of a trophy.  We won't win the league because you need to be a good team to win the title and of course we won't do anything in Europe.

ArsenalFanTV was pretty entertaining.  Well worth a watch of the recent stuff if you haven't already.

Signing Messi and Ronaldo and standing them in front of Flamini, Gabriel and Gibbs and you'll be hard-pushed to win the league. As lovely as it is having properly world-class players, it's hard to justify and it seems likely they're just going to end up leaving and will be sold at a loss too.

I've finally had it with Wenger, I still dont agree with banners and stuff during the season, but he has to step down at the end of this season, should we end up with no silverware he should be forced to by the board.

We see the same mistakes week in week out, we are our own worst enemy when we have the ball, we make everybody look like counter attacking experts because we commit too many bodies forward to join in with the endless passing on the edge of the other teams 18 yard box, only for a stray pass to send them cantering up the pitch to score.

The players are culpable as well, Wenger shouldnt have to tell them what they are doing wrong, the majority have won major trophies, they know what it takes, and for me that performance against watford was the straw that broke the camels back, normally they respond when it appears the pressure is on Wenger, but on Sunday they didnt give a shit, they saw the banner against Hull, they are all on Social Media etc, but they didnt put in a performance for him, once that happens the manager has to go.

I'd rather lose Wenger than Ozil and I dont think Ozil will put up with this for much longer.

It’s just an example of what a brand can mean, and what we can do in sports.

“We’re all working on that and that’s the big opportunity. Michael Jordan showed it - you can get paid a whole lot more if you can extend your brand. Manchester United showed it. They established benchmarks that people had thought heretofore unattainable, but their brand extension made people want to pay for it.”

 What the fuck is this?

I note he conveniently leaves out the part where Jordan and United's "brand" was extended by being brilliant and winning everything all the time.

You're entitled to rant and rave about the team's poor run of form all you want but I think that a man who gave your club 20yrs of his life and delivered such unprecedented levels of success that anything other than a cup win or a title challenge is considered failure deserves some respect, especially from fans like yourself.

Yeah. He's on about £8m a year mate. I respect him but he hasn't given us anything. He's been paid a fucking incredible fortune and returned great service fair enough. The failure has been to not spend the money we have on the team and letting us decline beyond belief. This hasn't happened overnight or due to bad luck. Quite a lot of fans respect him but want him out.

This sort of thing makes you look stupid, how can you say the greatest manager in our history hasn't given us anything?

3 league titles and 6 FA Cups, a champions league final, champions league qualification year after year and the Emirates Stadium.

and nearly 20 years service, 20 years of the mans life, working tirelessly with financial restrictions, working to leave the club in a better financial state than it's ever been, in a bigger stadium and with a bigger pedigree than it ever would have had.

i agree he should walk away now, but don't try to claim you respect him when you trot out the above claims, these have been the greatest years in Arsenal Football Clubs history.

Didn't he recently separate from his wife last year because he spent more time at AFC than his own marriage as well? Can't have been easy - so he might be without a club and a wife soon.

I think it's probably time for Arsene to go but I think I'm happy for him to see out his contract. That'll give us a year to find a proper replacement.

What's odd about the game tonight is that because we're going out and none of us give us any hope at all, I'm not in the slightest bit nervous.

Usually at this point I've have had all my finger nails off and I'd be on the sauce, but instead I'm sipping on a coffee and considering whether it's probably better to just watch the Bayern Juve game instead.

I like how that article above says this:

"last summer passed with Arsene Wenger spending only £10m on Chelsea’s Petr Cech.

In the same window Manchester City spent nearly £150m on the likes of Kevin De Bruyne, Raheem Sterling and Nicolas Otamendi, whilst Chelsea invested £62m in eight players."

Spending all that money has really helped City and Chelsea hasn't it...
