I don't think that can even be reasonably debated can it? He's been the best in that position by miles this season. Virtually unbeatable in one-on-ones.

Well I certainly think so but I'm always mindful of the fact that I only watch the full 90 minutes of the Arsenal games each weekend, so may not be best qualified to pass judgement on other teams' unsung heroes. Think he cost £6m or something, which has proved to be an absolute bargain in hindsight. Arsène knows.

Press conference bits:

Sounds like Alexis will probably make the bench for Chelsea.

Özil should be fit to start (to be honest it sounds like he was just rested vs Stoke, and the 'foot injury' was fabricated to cover Wenger's arse in case we lost in his absence).

Coquelin is back in full training. Probably a couple of weeks away from a return.

Rosicky is playing for the U21s to get a run out. I'd expect him to play some part against Burnley on the 30th.

Welbeck is apparently back in full training next week. Realistically after such a long time out he'll need a good few weeks of conditioning/U21 games before he can be considered again.

No news on Wilshere. RIP.

Coquelin is back in full training. Probably a couple of weeks away from a return.

Despite him being by far the least talented of our wounded he's probably the most urgently needed back owing to Cazorla being out and Arteta and Flam being either injured, way past it or both.

Still a fucking stupid tackle regardless of whether he touched him. Just let him run through, there's loads of time left.

Indeed, as Gary Neville used to say about penalties given where there's little contact, as soon as you go to ground, if you don't get the ball you're in trouble.
