People have been losing their shit about Bellerin being out, but fuck we've got a full France international as back up its not like we're sticking a YTS kid in

He's been playing like a pudding, though.

Bellerin's a huge loss.

a full France international who very recently got overrun by Sheffield Weds.

I'd happily take a draw at this point

As amazing as the home leg was, I think we would have all taken a draw prior to that match too

Hopefully Debuchy can remember how to play football, otherwise Douglas Costa will ruin him. Robben is back too, but I'm a bit more confident in Nacho/Koscielny on his flank.

I dunno, I think we can get a draw for sure if we play well. For all the possession they had in the home leg, how many chances did they get? Nearly all of it was sterile.

No one's working hard enough. Abysmal stuff.

How the club wasn't able to sign some stellar players in the summer makes me angrier than ever. Debuchy is an appalling footballer. Campbell is so far out of his depth it's embarrassing and Gabriel & Mertesacker and humiliating themselves with defending so bad it's laughable.

Having said that, Bayern are a superb side, but we are so far behind them it's annoying.

There's nothing that can be done to change this game as the substitutes bench is a joke. No options whatsoever. This is going to be a painful second half as we are going to get smashed.

Ignoring the game, what on Earth are you expecting Steve? Campbell is our 7th choice right 'winger' and has experience of a World Cup and 3 seasons in Europe. You'd struggle to find any club with that depth of experience.

Debuchy is (was) France's first choice right back and had several great seasons in the PL before getting severely injured. His form has dropped off a cliff, but are you really telling me you'd have had the foresight to replace him with someone in the summer?

And as for Gabriel and Mert: yes, Per is slow but who would you have bought in over the summer who was more experienced, a technical upgrade and would care more as a player?

It's fine to be frustrated and annoyed by getting beat, but we're losing to the best club side in the world, ravaged by injury and with the club seemingly focused on winning the PL.

It's highlighting how shallow our squad is once the first choice players get injured & highlights the clubs ludicrous decision to not sign any outfield players during the entire summer. It's not my job to say who we should have signed. The fact is we've got the best part of £200m sitting there & a portion of that should have been used to sign some decent talent. Adding 3-4 players probably wouldn't have helped tonight as Bayern will dick anyone, but it would give us a greater chance of securing the title or pushing on from last season, which is what it's all about. It's simply not going to happen when our current fringe players are barely average. To be a great side you need a great squad, not a decent first 11.

So let us hope Arsenal now finish bottom. Nobody wants a Europa adventure.

Yes, that would be fucking annoying playing Thursday's & Sunday's.

What are the chances you lose three right sided players in the same month?

Should have kept Jenkison as Bellerin's back up to be fair.

Jenkinson won't want to come back as Bellerin's backup, I can see his West Ham move being made permanent.

I couldn't disagree more.

You're talking about buying for the sake of it if you think on paper we needed a right back or another right winger.

It's also total bollocks that we can't challenge for the title with our squad. It's November and we're joint top.

The only place we could/should have added players is in DM and up front. You can't bemoan an absurd injury situation on the right or Debuchy becoming pony as a sign that the club don't want to/can't challenge for the title.

I agree we should be doing something with that cash (also, read Swiss Ramble-£200m is not £200m we can spunk on a load of 'world class' players. Especially if they're not available).

How many times have we been near the top pre-Xmas only for injuries & suspensions to wreck our season? It'll happen again. You don't win league & European titles with squads like ours, as we've proved quite comprehensively over the last 10 or so years.

Well that last minute winner for Olympiakos is the coup de grace for the evening.

I was keeping an eye on that result and hoping for a draw.

As it stands we need to win both of our games vs Olympiakos and Dynamo Zagreb (certainly doable). Olympiakos' other game is against Bayern so then it'll come down to goal difference if we win both of ours... Theirs is 0 and ours is -4 and I would expect them to ship a few against Bayern.

Pretty rubbish tonight, but kinda expected with our injuries. I'd prefer to focus on the league and if we go into Europa, so be it. Europa will give us a chance to test some of our fringe players because if they can't cope with Europa, then we should probably get rid.
