Not much I can say that hasn't already been said. We were shit and deserved nothing. Shame really as first half reminded me of the Man City away game and I was convinced we might snatch a second and kill the game.

Hopefully Kane moves on to a big club as I think I may have to vomit the next time a Spurs mate sings "He's one of our own" at me.

Spurs pressing was really good today, certainly one of the reasons our passing was so bad. If their finishing had been better I think they would have scored more in the period before and after half time when they were on top.

Having said all that they started to fade towards the end of the game and we really should have at least held out for a draw. Was really surprised with our subs. Guessing they were fitness related rather than tactical.

Football365, in their 16 conclusions article on the match, describe coq as the lone firefighter in midfield (at times).

They also say that since his return to the team in December, no PL player has recovered possession more. He won possession back 14 times today.

I thought he did well today. Perhaps he misses Sanchez's high pressing/work ethic ahead of him?

We had Welbeck back, which really should ease the lack of Sanchez (disregarding the his occasional magic).

Really, the problem is that whilst we've lined up reasonably, we can end up in a mess with the squad we had on today.

---------Giroud-------

-Ozil---Cazorla---Welbeck

--------Ramsey---------

--------Coquelin-------

Nacho---Kos--Per--Bellerin

Is fine. But loads of times we were actually playing:

-----Giroud---Welbeck----

-----OzilRamseyCazorla--Bellerin

Monreal-------------------------

---------Coquelin---------------

------Kos----------Per---------

Which is a bit odd at the best of times, but this was us trying to be solid. We were in that position when we were 1-0 up and Spurs were on the ball. The amount of space on our right was just ridiculous.

You can't sit on 1-0 doing shit like that.

He's good at recovering possession and is much more proactive in that regard, but he's not good enough on the ball under pressure. Tbh none of our holding players are, but Arteta is the safest bet. Ramsey also tends to struggle when pressed so when Cazorla has an off day like today, and the forwards aren't offering any threat when they get the chance, it's no surprise we found ourselves under the cosh so badly.

I think describing him as a "lone firefighter" is odd, this system we've had since Citeh gives him absolutely loads of assistance.

After being so great last year, this season is a bit of a nightmare for Ramsey, isn't it. :(

Good against City and Villa, poor against Spurs. Impossible for him to find top form when he keeps getting injured though, it's ridiculous. Swear he never used to get these muscle problems.
