Good luck to you chaps. Great to see you in the mix. Spare a thought for the long suffering Villa fans next time you moan about your manager/owner/other.

Can't imagine what it must be like really. Don't mean any disrespect, but yea supporting Villa seems fairly horrible these days. Carlos Sanchez was unbelievably shit.

As for us, good performances all round really. Thought Fenton looked a bit lost at times but it'll come when he familiarises himself with the system hopefully. Just wonder what's going on with his contract though - he'll be into the last 12 months in the summer.

Didn't he reject some 5-year deal because he wanted £100k a week, or something? Eh, I really like Theo & think he could be a key component to our success in the next few years (maybe a bit less now that Alexis is ripping it up, but still, I felt that our title challenge was done as soon as he was ruled out last season) so will always want him to stay.

This is a bit of a weird transfer deadline day coming, I don't know what to do with myself. Usually I'm panicking, updating the BBC website every few minutes desperate to see any kind of rumour about the numerous positions we obviously need to strengthen in, willing Wenger to do something.

Except we just won 5-0, we've got our business done, the squad looks in a decent shape and we've got some momentum for the first time all season. Maybe I'll go out.

A great result, and good day all round, what with the Southampton result. I also enjoyed the concept of telling a version of me from two years ago that, prior to a game in February 2015, Arsenal would have summer signing (and shoe-in for Arsenal player of the season) Alexis Sanchez ruled out for a game through injury, but it'd all be fine because Mesut Ozil would be coming back after a bit of a layoff and play a blinder. I think the only bit he'd believe would be the injuries.

I still think we ought to be signing a couple more players, especially, as always in defensive midfield. Arteta seems to be gone, Flamini is getting more and more Flamini by the second and we've only signed a 17 year old in that position. Oh, but it's OK, we've got Coquelin playing well now. Who is coincidentally out of contract in the summer. This had never happened before.

Even if Coquelin does sign a new contract, we've seen plenty of times that players suddenly demotivate as soon as they've squiggled their name on a piece of paper. One more central/defensive midfielder would really steady the ship.

(Although in Football Manager mode I'd also be buying Lavezzi, even though we clearly don't need an attacking winger.)

Went to my first Arsenal match on Sunday (gf is a season ticket holder and her brother couldn't make it).

Great view and some great football on show. It looked so easy for Arsenal at times but I can't help but think that had Villa scored to level at 1-1 but for a great save by Ospina, Arsenal would not have recovered.

Walcott has got to be the most frustrating player to watch, though. I kept saying he needed to be more direct, especially after that failed change in the first half when he was put through on goal from just inside the Villa half. Finally though, he was direct for his goal, and it was a great goal. Hopefully with more games he will do that more often.

The silence from the Arsenal fans was deafening but as my gf explained, the hardcore have been priced out. The Villa fans took the piss the whole game and a few of them were thrown out by the police. I can only assume it was because their insult were heard over the silent crowd.

Poor performance from home crowds is much the same at most Premier League grounds from my experience. In recent years I've been to Utd, City, Sunderland, West Brom & Liverpool and the home crowd has been pretty shit at all of them. Not done Stamford Bridge for a while but their home crowd is meant to be hopeless.

Ones that weren't awful: Newcastle were alright. Stoke make a din but they seem to have a disproportionately high amount of horrible cunts. Palace are good. And I haven't been but Leicester seem decent from what I've seen on telly.
