What a great performance and result! Rode our luck a little at the start of the 2nd half, but as others have said we put bodies in the box.

Really though the whole team looked great without the ball, plus we didn't commit too many men forward.

Ospina looked assured.

It's Ospina's shirt to lose now, in my opinion. He's yet to be really tested, in fairness, as we shut them down very effectively further up the pitch today but he looked very calm & in control. Although I think Szczesny is a very good keeper on his day (he was excellent against West Ham, for example) he always has a moment of moronic stupidity in him & there's evidently still some mental deficiencies in his approach. We bought Ospina in for precisely this situation, so as long as he's keeping clean sheets he should keep his place in the team.

Nice dilemma with all the midfield options available now too, specifically Cazorla & Özil. No way you can drop Santi the way he's playing right now, but unless you shunt either one of them out to the left where their effectiveness is blunted (and they're taking up Alexis' spot) then you'd struggle to fit both in the side together, I think.

selection dilemmas never last long for us - they soon turn into an injury crisis.

I think we really benefited yesterday from our luxury players being out - that team would have been far less hardworking and selfless with say Wilshire, Ozil & Walcott shoehorned in.

Ox & Ramsey may not have been fantastic going forward but they both put in good shifts, as did Coqeulin who was excellent, in an ugly way. Even Cazorla had the tackling back bug (as well as being decent going forward).

Cazorla was getting past their pressing constantly - him being two-footed helps immensely in that regard as he can go either way just as easily. I definitely think this deeper 4-1-4-1 with him in midfield is the way to go for certain games. Ramsey was giving me the jitters at times with his attacking runs, but he did put in an immense shift considering he's just come back from injury.

To be fair we have set up that way a few times so it's not like it's totally new ground for Wenger (Dortmund last season, Chelsea this season spring to mind). Fine margins in these games though, against Chelsea it was all going very similarly to the game yesterday until Hazard did a brilliant run, and we ended up losing 2-0 despite only giving them two chances all match.

I can't remember the last time I saw a player looking as knackered as Ramsey did when he went off.

Apparently the Paulista thing could get complicated. As usual we don't want to 'overpay' but it seems that if we get him too cheap we may struggle to secure a work permit as he needs to be seen as exceptionally skilled and raising the quality of the league. Much of this is based on valuation it seems!

If only he hadn't, he might have been denied a work permit!

(Yeah, he wasn't their first choice though was he? Maybe my memory has failed me entirely and the already poor gag doesn't even work.)

He was in every squad and pretty much first choice. No-one understood it even at the time, but y'know.

Deal agreed for Gabriel apparently.

They have posted a message on their Twitter account saying a deal has been agreed. And one saying Campbell has joined on loan till the end of the season.
