lol @ thinking the manager needs to give some sort of magic instructions to the players to stop them throwing away a 3-0 lead. As soon as Arteta went off the rest of them went full retard.

How about telling the team to stop bombing forward at 3-2? Heck, even at 3-1 we should have been tightening up at the back and stopped committing so many men going forward with the game in the bag.

That's a team playing under the leadership of a guy who's tactically inept. That's Wenger's fault.

We are pretty horrible without the ball, I won't deny that. Wenger made the wrong subs for sure but when you throw away a 3-0 lead with half an hour to go, surely the bulk of the blame lies with the players. Even wasters like Podolski and Flamini shouldn't do that.

On the bus at 3-0, now I see it's 3-3. What ficking happened?

The weirdest thing about it was that nothing happened. They didn't particularly improve, Arsenal didn't play particularly worse. They just got 3 goals from our disorganisation.

As embarrassing as a result can be, frankly.

Missed the game but I thought we were over the days where we threw away 3 and 4 goal leads?

Why on earth would you think that?

As far as I can see most people aren't even that annoyed about this. It's just sort of expected. The players are mostly idiots, still bombing forward at 3-2, and Wenger made absolutely horrible substitutions which virtually begged Anderlecht to get back into the game.

I'm just trying not to think about it because when you do, you realise that it's basically impossible for us to top the group now, which means we'll get a shit draw in the next round (assuming we even get there) and we'll get knocked out the same way we do every year. All because we can't hold on to a fucking 3-0 lead against a team we should be beating for lols.

I get what you're saying about it just being expected, though. I want to say that nothing would surprise me when it comes to Arsenal but I guess one day they'll actually play a decent game of football and I'll be dumbstruck. I mean, when was the last actual good performance? Was it the Community Shield?

Community Shield we were alright but mostly City were just terrible. We haven't played consistently well for nearly a year now, though. Just the odd decent spell here and there really.

I'm not gonna blame Arsene for this...

...because at the end of the day he could well have been urging them to stay back. He was clearly exasperated at them after the match so I think it's feasible. And even if he wasn't bellowing from the sidelines, that still doesn't excuse such rampant idiocy from supposedly top level footballers.

But you have to say where he did unquestionably fuck up last night was in the subs. Just so, so wrong. Takes off two quick forwards and replaces them with slow ones, so we had no hope of pushing them back with pace, but we also had no physical outlet up front because he inexplicably brought on Podolski instead of Sanogo. Then you see us pumping long balls up to Santi fucking Cazorla. Unreal. I've said it three times now but my god, those substitutions were shocking, and so obviously flawed.

I seem to remember us not bombing forward in a few games over the past couple of years when scores turned from 3-0 to 3-1. I'm not saying we started slowing the game down and clinically fouling or anything, just that with players like Mertesacker and Arteta in team, instead of say Song and Eboue I though we were a little more savvy.

Whilst I don't disagree with the subs, it was fairly obvious he wasn't making them for tactical reasons, as wanting players on and players off. It was as much complacency from him as it was from the team.

I suspect/hope it will be the worst he's felt after a game in years.

Why not? He's the manager and time after time after time we get caught out through complacency, stupidity or tactical naivety. It's all well and good coming across as huffy after the match but until someone gets a proper bollocking for being a retard, like properly being made to take responsibility for idiocy, and that includes Arsene, until arses start to get kicked and people know their future is on the line nothing will ever change. It's a joke. It's no accident that we keep falling foul of such horrific and costly lapses in concentration and discipline. It's totally unacceptable across the board. The Club has been underperforming for too long, it needs a fucking shake up.

It's fair to say that if this happened under Fergie or Maureen, those players would would be dropped for a month or shipped out in January.

As much as the subs were rubbish, I think maybe he didn't want to risk injury seeing as our squad is barebones as it is. If we'd won 3-0 and lost Welbeck and whoever else until January, we'd be all "rest your players, you fool!"

Yes, stupid subs but blame lies with the players for me. But then again, the reason out squad is so thin is because...

I'm not saying he shouldn't have made any subs, just that he made the wrong ones and it was bloody obvious at the time. If he was going to give us 94-year-old Rosicky instead of Ox, and also remove his very fast centre forward, he should have put Yaya up front so at least we had some sort of outlet to relieve pressure. Bringing on slow/small/lazy players while removing 2/3 of the team's quick/physical guys is mind blowingly stupid when you're trying to defend a lead but haven't been comfortable all game.
