Good to see the fans singing well considering that they were probably having as much of a 'MEH' feeling as I was about the whole thing.

Did you go?

Interesting piece I just read about Baptista..

He was nigh on useless last night and there was a very strange incident when he was taken off. Arsene Wenger gestured at Baptista’s back and Baptista made a ‘What are you on about’ gesture to Wenger who glared at him till he sat down.

Afterwards Arsene Wenger revealed he took the Brazilian off because he had a back injury and said:

'I felt he had a bad back. We have checked that and he’s really badly injured.'

So did he have a back injury before the game? Did he pick it up during the game or did he get a back injury when he mouthed off to the manager as he was taken off? And how did Arsene Wenger feel Baptista’s back injury? It’s all very weird, I have to say, but it’s not difficult to understand the manager’s frustration with his player.

Just got back form Birmingham, stayed overnight and watched the game. I was in a villa corporate box but I can confirm that the Arsenal out sung Villa all game, excellent. I also witnessed the wenger/baptit incident, wasn't pretty, I reckon he'll be going back on an Easy jet come May.

I posted something earlier. I still haven't got my head around it, particularly Wenger's comments about Baptista being seriously injured. Sounds really odd given the context and circumstances.

Perhaps he means seriously injured. Like "Adebayor is back and you've pissed me off so we aren't gonna sign you so you aren't playing for Arsenal again" injured.

I know 'the beast' has turned in to something closer resembling a lame duck but its not like we have many others crying out for a starting place. Adebayor will obviously walk back in to the team but his strike rate is a little less hit and more miss half the time.

It's not a very good reason for splashing £8m on him, though  .

Adebayor doesn't exactly strike fear in to most teams (his strike reat being a little less hit and more miss) half the time.

I don't think he's a natural goalscorer. He needs a partner really. I, and 99% of the Emirates crowd, think he's been brilliant this season. Remember he's only young. I think he's aces.

I don't disagree, and I have to admit that seing him 'live' he really impresses. But, like you say, he needs a partner and more time. Where's the next Bergkamp going to come from?

I keep thinking Bap is going to settle down and improve, but his first touch is all too often very poor and he seems to get dispossesed far too easily much of the time.

The FA can fuck off. I hope we stand up to them. The Adebayor charge was fucking nonsense and I'm angry at the Club for not challenging it more aggressively. As for Wenger calling that twat a liar, he fucking is! Where the fuck is the punch he saw? It's not like he's admitted he was wrong, Adebayor is banned for something that didn't happen!

As for the 'superstar' comment, yes it is nicely intriguing. And it rules out Baptista  .

Baptista just isn't good enough, for a guy so big he has no presence on the field whatsoever.

Pardon the pun but he has the touch of a rapist.

Also at the end of the match Gallas was a star, he applauded the Gooners in the crowd went straight over,

gave his shirt to someone, looked really passionate about being a gunner. That's what we need.

Equally Freddie was signing a few autographs and thanking the fans after running his socks off all game.

I was there last night and can confirm if Villa did not have Carew for the knockdowns they would not have had anything. Also the "same old darkies, always cheating" chants were pretty disgraceful. Last time I go to a midweek at Villa Park anyway, it is a fucking nightmare getting in on time and getting away cleanly.

The darkie chants were soon drowned out thank fuck. No need for it, witnessed it at the Emirates

back in August against the same team. My black mate was equally impressed as you can imagine.

As for Eto, great, as long as he stays a footballer and not a superstar/madonna type sulky puppy.
