There was a reason they let him go and he was cheap, he's never been clinical and we had 2 great examples in his first 2 games. Strikers who take those chances more often cost a lot more than him and don't get released very often.

Chelsea get Costa, United get Falcao, Liverpool get Balotelli and we get a cast off. Harsh but true.

Like Gotters said, the difference between a £16m Welbeck and a £32m Costa is worlds apart.

I don't want to go on about Welbeck because everyone has been shit, apart from Szczesny, but we could have actually nicked a goal even though we've played so bad.

Welbeck is a good player, potentially very good, but his finishing is a clear weak point.

Ramsey struggles with pressing, his first touch isn't the greatest, especially tonight. He needs to step it up because I really can't recall the last time he was good in a big game, even last season.

Ramsey and Arteta are the weak point in the team, we cant hold possession because both of them have been poor in possession, Arteta can only pass backwards these days, and he doesn't have the legs to mop up, and Ramsey hasn't been able to pass water for weeks, much less a football, terrible really.

If you're a striker and finishing is your weak point you're gonna struggle really aren't you

Depends. That's pretty simplistic. It's something that can be improved. You have Falcao or Van Nistelrooy types at one end who offer goals and fuck all else, but it's not the be all and end all if goals can come from elsewhere. I'm sure he'll come good.

Never a yellow for Özil there ffs

You have to take the rough with the smooth and if nothing else this has been utterly fascinating in terms of witnessing eleven men all performing with utter incompetence at the same time. Fair play, they're showing amazing consistency and togetherness out there. Also, the managers are accurately reflected in the respective performances tonight. Passive and out of touch vs energetic and full of character.
