Interpretation: Wenger got up early, Welbeck's agent sent a message to a few clubs, Arsenal, Spurs, etc. Wenger read the message, said "for a loan?" and the agent said "maybe, just checking" and then sent a message back saying "nah, needs to be a full transfer" and Wenger messaged the board saying "think we should buy him? I think probably yeah". The Spurs mob then woke up and sent a message saying "for a loan?" and the agent sent back "will just double check, but probably not" and then the Arsenal board sent a message to Wenger saying "whateva" and Wenger sent a message saying "OK, we'll take him. Sort it out with the staff" and then the agent messaged Spurs saying "not a loan, needs to be bought" and then whilst they were thinking we confirmed it all.

My favourite was when he recently claimed he could run a better transfer window than Wenger.

This is the guy who, in the past, has demanded we buy, amongst countless others:

Ashley Young

Marouane Fellaini

Scott Dann

Felipe Melo

Scotty Parker

Chris Samba

Hope he gets Ebola tbh.

It's weird that le-grove seems to have taken the totally out of context quote and run with it. Didn't he/they* bother to first check what Arsene actually said before writing about it?

*I've managed to avoid anything le-grove related, which sounds like a good thing :D

It's not weird at all. The guy works in marketing, he knows exactly what he's doing. He offers and essentially promotes a view that some sections of our fanbase are happy to swallow because it's not the general opinion and offers something different from other blogs.

Also: he's a cunt.

Pretty sure a few of those names were bandied around in this thread at various times too.

But, yes, second the fox's amazing Durham/Hitler thing.

Oh I'm sure every single one of those was suggested ITT, doesn't mean they would have been good signings at the time though, and subsequently they've all been shown up as not good enough.

In the defence of people who wanted those players at the time (I think I wanted Melo personally, but was indifferent or against most of the others), most did come at a time when we had some real dross in the squad, and money was tight.

Carlito is right about Le Grove though, he knows exactly what he's doing and treats his audience with complete contempt by peddling his negative agenda which helps divide the fan base and spoil the atmosphere. He's a total cunt.

Ramsey trained today so it looks like he'll be alright. Think the team might be:

Szczesny; Debuchy, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Monreal; Arteta; Alexis, Ramsey, Cazorla, Ozil; Welbeck

Subs: Ospina, Chambers, Gibbs, Flamini, Ox, Wilshere, Sanogo

Hopefully back in a 4-2-3-1 rather than a 4-1-4-1 though, I sure as fuck don't want Ozil on the left having to track Zabaleta...

Why do we persist with this formation, should've played ox instead of ozil if he wasn't gonna play 4-2-3-1.

Actually agree with this. Seen a few nice flashes from Özil and he's so good at retaining the ball in tight spaces, but he's wasted and fairly ineffective in this system. I don't understand it.

Guess the problem is Wilshere has been better than Ramsey in almost every match this season, but it's hard to sub Ramsey because he's always got a goal in him.
