"@Orbinho: Alexis Sanchez chance conversion rate in La Liga

2011-12 30.8%

2012-13 25.8%

2013-14 31.2%

Striker average is 16%"

Kike Marin, who seems to have a decent success rate amongst the transfer whores, said on Twitter that our primary target is Reus. Obviously either would be amazing. Sanchez is more positionally versatile; he can play at No9 (though I'd have physical concerns about him there in England), and I'm sure his most productive period for Udinese came as a No10. And obviously off either flank too.

Can't imagine Reus is doable really, IF he was to leave I think bigger and richer fish than us would be right in there. Don't really see why Barca would want to sell Alexis either tbh, but I wouldn't put anything past their board.

I think Sanchez will be available, he's another suitable scapegoat as Fabregas was. Knocking Spain out of the World Cup is probably helpful to us...I think it's doable. Unlikely, but doable.

As much as I'd like Reus, he could walk into any team. He'll cost an utter fortune.

Would you want Song back if he was offered? Still relatively young at 26, likely to be available at a lower price than you sold him for. We could probably do with him if you don't fancy it.

I think we'll pass, help yourself.

Saw a good point about Alexis on Twitter - he thrives mostly when given a lot of freedom, which I guess explains why perhaps Barca have struggled to get the most out of him when they have Messi as a false 9, and Neymar roving too. If it's just an upgrade on the left we want, Reus or even Griezmann would probably be easier to integrate. Alexis would possibly take longer to work out a positional relationship with Ozil, in the same way Santi did last season. In that sense his versatility and inclination to wander wouldn't necessarily be ideal, despite the fact he's fucking excellent. If we're building the side around Ozil, I guess we should first look at how players fit with in with him.

I've decided to take the optimistic view that the reason we've not signed anybody yet is all our targets are from teams that haven't been knocked out the WC yet.

Its preferable to thinking that another last minute trolly dash for whatever is left on the shelves is coming.

I like to hope that the deals have already been done or are close but we have an agreement in place with Puma that we won't be showing off any new signings wearing the old Kit/training tops with Nike across them a week or two before the Puma kit launch. While I am sure this isn't the case it at least helps keep me sane...

Maybe deals are not as far as done but surely things are going on, and are advanced, behind the scenes.

Once the World Cup is finished I fully expect a couple/few to be announced.

Can't believe we don't have a plan and have just been watching while Chelsea & Utd have already spent £60million each and Liverpool are about to take their spending to £30million or so.
