I'm just not convinced that Ozil-Fabregas-Walcott is a better trio behind the striker than Cazorla-Ozil-Walcott. Then there's the issue of Chamberlain & Wilshere's progression stalling further because their game time becomes more limited (which it undoubtedly would).

I dunno. He's easily worth £30m in general, but I don't he's worth £30m to us. Not when we already have a world class No10 who should in theory perform better next season, especially if we sign some players to complement him.

I think with most of us Arsenal fans (or for myself anyway) I'd struggle to see him at any other Premier League club, I still really dislike seeing him in a Barcelona shirt

I can accept seeing him in a Barcelona shirt but a City shirt would be horrendous.

As for a Utd shirt or God forbid a Chelsea shirt, that would be too much.

I hope he stays at Barca. If not, then I hope we buy him back. Even if it is just to avoid him going to these clubs. (I know we don't really do them moves but we could always do with a bit more depth)

How about Bayern and a reunion with Pep?

Don't think Bayern are really crying out for attacking midfielders!

Tbh I don't think anyone has a clue right now, Darren Dein is clearly going mental putting leaks out here there and everywhere. The journos are changing their minds more often than poor old Le Grove.

How about this in a 4-5-1 or 4-3-3 (a la Real Madrid)

Arteta / New DM

Wilshere Ramsey

Ozil Cesc

Giroud / New forward

Not much width there but we don't really do width do we.

Back up or interchanging with Cazorla, AOC, Rosicky, Flamini, Theo, Podolski, Gnabry and more signings AW chooses to add using the £100 million burning a hole in his pocket.

If AW is to go out with a bang he's got to be looking at picking up the CL and/or PL in this, probably last, contract so he's surely gonna spend some of the money he's worked so hard to generate in the last 10 years or so.

We really should sign Cesc if we have the chance. Seeing him lining up against us in a Man City/Man U/Chelsea shirt would be heartbreaking.

He could always replace Arteta, or as others have said we could have a squad for once that doesn't collapse in feb if he joined. He is an amazing player.

He was a possible, obviously, but he doesn't seem to have really set Ligue 1 alight, he's just been sort of fine. I'd not be massively confident he'd do well in the Premiership.

He's been playing right wing virtually all season to be fair, which is why he's allegedly in a grump. I think he's the only forward who'd significantly improve us on his own, who might be gettable. Didn't bother suggesting Messi/Suarez/Ronaldo etc as they're completely unattainable. But realistically PSG probably aren't going to sell him.

Someone like Benzema or even Mandzukic would improve us, but I'm not sure they'd be enough on their own to turn us into proper challengers. I think we'd additionally need some more running up front in the form of another wide forward.

Suarez would be good, but I still wouldn't sign him. Messi and Ronaldo...Well, obviously they'd be quite useful but I don't think they're actually strikers as we need them to be.

Kinda my point really. I'm not sure how successful we can expect this hunt to be when Infinite Money only comes up with one possible candidate.

If you're trying to build a competitive front line with just one guy, then sure it's hard, if not impossible given who's actually likely to be available. But say Cavani would go for £55m - you could probably buy Mandzukic and Alexis for a similar amount, if the latter was available. Higher wage bill doing it that way, mind you, but it is possible.

If the really top tier guys aren't doable, and it looks like they probably aren't, then two slightly lesser forward players could still make us competitive.

Bah, more worried about the Ox being ok! :(

Tbh we really don't need Cesc, I just hope we see some decent signings to make us more competative. Quality striker, keeper and a replacement for Sagna at the very least.

I also want to know if they've found out anymore about our 'balsa wood' injury problem..

I don't really think I'm going to be that bothered about Cesc. I'd have signed him and obviously I'd rather he wasn't at Chelsea, but he's only emphasising the way he left rather than doing anything particularly bad now. No-one else wants him and he's going there as a failure and a reject rather than as an Arsenal hero.

He'd be an asset to any squad, but all the best teams already have players in his position. Even for Chelsea I doubt very much that he'd be Mourinho's preferred choice.

If we do pass on him though I hope we're confident of buying top quality elsewhere. If we turn him down and then buy the likes of Remy and Vela, people will rightly lose their shit.

Either Fabregas deeper, where you definitely lose some of what he brings to the table, or Oscar alongside Matic which again I don't think is ideal by any means.

I find it hard to believe Mourinho wants Cesc tbh, and they haven't gotten on well in the past. Who knows, maybe he'll stay at Barca.

So according to Ornstein, we've rejected the buy-back option even though Cesc was keen. I understand why Wenger won't sign him, but it's going to be fucking horrible next season when half our team is crippled again and we're crying wishing we'd signed him.

Also, the thought of potentially having Cesc at Chelsea, RvP at United and Sagna and Nasri at City leaves a sour taste.

Apparently we're also getting in some world renowned fitness guru from the German team, so maybe half the team won't die next season (lol).

Arsenal twitter is amazing right now. The meltdowns are quite something to behold.
