I wonder what stick everyone is going to use to beat us with if we win the FA Cup this year...

it will focus on us only beating wigan and hull (hopefully) to win it, forgetting liverpool, spurs and everton before then

Only won one trophy in 9 seasons, and you did it against Hull (assuming you do indeed win of course).

*What people will say, not the stick I'm personally going to try beating you with.

I've just been following the BBC online commentary of the WBA game. It seems to be punctuated every 5 minutes or so with snarky texts from members of the public moaning about how Arsenal are rubbish but Arsenal fans think Wenger is great; but as far as I can tell it is precisely the other way around - most Arsenal fans I know (and, as far as I can tell just about everyone in this thread) spend most of their time moaning about how Wenger doesn't win the league often enough, but in fact he has won a ton of stuff with Arsenal, and consistently achieved top league positions while the club has rebuilt its infrastructure without any of the gazillions of pounds of external investment that Chelsea and Man City have received.

I have no point to make other than it fucking annoyed me and I wanted to get it off my chest.

Really don't think Remy is good enough to improve us in any significant way tbh. Unless we fail to sign any of Costa/Balo/Cavani/Benzema/Mandzukic and need a fall back then I don't see the point in getting him. You can't win the league with just Giroud, but I don't think you can do it with Giroud and Remy either.

I don't really rate remy but we have to be realistic, I can't see us signing any of the above as other teams will want them and we never seem to get the players that are up for auction. He would probably score a lot of goals for us though as he has the pace to latch onto Cazorla/ozil through balls. I don't rate mandzukic either and would rather have a different type of player to giroud to mix things up in games.

Is he better than Sanogo? Yes. Is he better than any of the U21 strikers we've got? Yes.

We've got ONE senior striker at the club (if you exclude Poldi) and you'd turn down Remy? Madness.

I'm not saying we buy him instead of another, ideally world-class striker, but as well as. We need a squad of players to challenge; when was the last time a team won the league with any less than 3 recognisable 15+ goals a season strikers? Dunno, but none spring to mind.

Besides, he might be better than Giroud, he's certainly very different given that he drops deeper and wider and create things out of nothing. Plus, he can score from more than 8 yards out.

We're going to fail all of those players Fox listed so Remy is a good idea. From what he was saying after the West Brom game, it seems Wenger is convinced that Walcott and Ramsey being fit for the season wins us the title. I kind of concur with him.

Out of interest, why do you not include Podolski as a forward (@BlinkyBear)?

Was more of an 'in reference' about Poldi to Fox, as he hates him. And his children. And the ground he walks on.

I might be over-exaggerating here, but he really doesn't like him up top as a lone striker. I kind of agree.

Don't see any reason why we couldn't sign Mandzukic or Balotelli from the above list, but I'll concede the others are far less probable.

Obviously I'd take Remy over signing no one, but I think we could and should be aiming higher.

As for Poldi, he's not a lone striker. Wenger explained why not just a couple of days ago. In a front two I'm sure he'd be good, but we're not going to play that way as standard.
