I also haven't a clue what Wenger has told them to do. I don't know what the plan is and it's clear the players don't either.

Better be a big clear out this summer...

He did that last summer. With the exception of Bendtner, the players you see in the squad are the ones he wanted to keep.

This is terrible. We've lost the last remnants of ability since Ozil got injured.

Relying on Ramsey to drag us through now, and hope City beat Everton. Need Ozil and Kos back urgently as well.

Totally agree, Kos is a massive loss.

Without spending a ridiculous amount (on wages, as much as transfers), I really can't see any other manager fixing this in the short-term. We won't be able to buy any instant-fix players if we're out the Champion's League, we can't get rid of anyone without getting replacements in...

It's going to be interesting.

I think the most alarming thing is our failing to build at least a functional team given the injuries.

I mean obviously we aren't going to be the team we were with everyone available but surely we can do better than this?

It's beyond round peg in square hole here and there, it's literally a team that doesn't work. We don't have any apparent goal-scoring formula, we are witheringly incapable of dealing with counterattack and we struggle to make options and build play out of defence - are there no youth options there to address one of these things?

Hold on, I thought Ozil was turning into a bit of a liabilty at least according to the papers anyway...

Yes, absolutely. It's horrifying.

by no means the only problem but Vermaelen is a total fucking liability nowadays - he's not even good enough to have as your 3rd choice. He never was a defender but because a got a few goals in his first season people didn't seem to realise.

another dire day and unlike recent seasons when we finished strongly to power into 4th we're dying before the line now and struggling to see the season out.

Pretty clear now that, even if he was underperforming, he was really helping us in the final third. We look awful without him.

I really feel sorry for him. He's gone from being the best center back. You can see that he still cares and wants everyone around him to do better, as you would want from the captain, but then puts so much pressure on himself to play well and make sure everyone else does that he ends up making a mess of everything. Plus being out of practice doesn't help, I guess. More than once Mertesacker was spinning around looking where he'd gone and having to sprint to cover somewhere Vermaelen should have been.

I really think that wherever he moves to he'll be really good, if not quite great. Maybe a new manager at Arsenal could get him going again, but if Wenger is still here next season then it'd be better for everyone if Vermaelen isn't.

Yeah, I think more horrifying than any shit performance is the fact that we're going to end the season as Tottenham.
