Proud of the boys tonight. always going to be a big ask without walcott and ramsey. glad that the team went there and didn't embarrass themselves.

I don't care if there was contact. He's a diving cunt.

100% this. its made all the worse by commentators going "there was contact" since when did football become a non contact sport.

Two good away results against Bayern, this year and last, but we blew it both times at home.

Very frustrating.

Agree with whatever everyone else is saying about Robben. Embarrassing dive in the box and he should have been booked. Penalty wasn't much better. There was some contact but he still went down easier than a prostitutes knickers.

Wow the papers are really going to town on Ozil and Arsenal today. As usual.

I guess he was meant to play a 10/10 game with a tight hamstring, and we were expected to comfortably overturn the deficit from the first leg against the best side around. Jesus Christ. We did alright didn't we?! 11 vs 11 we more than held our own.

The order of media blame depends on the scoreline. They were hoping for a drubbing so they could put it all at Wenger's door. They got a finely balanced game (1-1 away at Bayern is actually difficult!) so the blame moves to the most expensive player.

Do you honestly think we've got as much from Ozil as we should have got from him? Your defence of him often makes him sound like the best player to ever pull on an Arsenal shirt and that he's been in sparkling form all season. He's obviously not been nearly as shit as the press want him to have been but I'd say the truth is somewhere between the two, your hyperbole is as bad as theirs sometimes.

He wasn't very good last night, I never said he was. He wasn't very good in the first leg either but you can't draw meaningful conclusions from either match, because he was pretty much playing at left back in one game and was injured in the other.

I defend him because a) some accusations levelled at him are factually incorrect, and b) I feel a bit sorry for him because he seems like a pretty unassuming guy and the press have been virtually bullying him lately, and that media narrative clearly has a knock on effect with some fans and colours their opinion of him.

I'd be interested to see quotes where I'm implying he's the "best player to ever pull on an Arsenal shirt". I've definitely stated several times that we haven't seen the best of him by a long shot, and that in a few games he's been total shite. I think you've pulled that out of your arse to be honest.

I'm watching that Ian Wright thing on ITV4, ive seen that Mr Pigden footage a few times before and read Wrighty's book and it still makes me blub

Further to this, I couldn't handle him breaking down whilst talking about Rocastle either!

I may not always agree with Wrighty, but I love how he wears his heart on his sleeve.

As for Ozil and last night, he had, what, a game and a half out of the side? And has pretty much played every game for us since signing. He may not be setting the league alight with his performances but hes being picked out as the problem for any result that doesn't go Arsenal's way, which is unfair on him and unfair on Wenger, people demanded a big money signing, and theres no argument that Ozil fits that with the price tag and his ability, and then as soon as he's not the best player on the pitch every single game the press turn on him and ultimately the fans turn on him.

I really don't think that we could ask any more from him. It's all down to injuries again - if we'd had a full squad, we'd have not only had the players to bring the best out of him but also he wouldn't have played as many games. Most, sure, but he could have been dropped for a few.

We really, really need to build a squad big enough to cope with these injury crises. It's not felt quite as bad this year and we've still lost basically every single attacking player at one point or another to serious injuries.

Given his fee, salary and reputation he needs to be the best player more often than not or else what's the point? He's supposed to be the difference. If he's not set anything alight then that's not great considering he's a superstar. I've got a lot of time for him but Bayern home and away is where you hope to see the benefit of a £42m outlay. I said at the time it would be unfair to judge him on the first leg after the red card but he did cost us with the penalty. Last night.. Was he injured? I suppose you take that at face value. People aren't convinced by him, that's understandable.

People really need to stop giving the media so much attention. They are not the voice of the fans. Never were, never will be.

Real Gooners will know that it was a pretty decent performance against arguably the best team in the world right now. Unfortunately the damage was done in the first leg and we were never going to win 3-0 and cruise through to the next round.

Pires looked dreadful in his first season then he turned into one of the greatest players to ever ply his trade in England.

Give Ozil time. Next season is when he should be judged.

Yep, hammy - out for a few weeks apparently.

Ollie Holt is gonna be gutted.

He's just trying to capture the mood of the majority of fans, man.

Agreed. Next season he'll have had a full(isn, with it being a World Cup year) preseason with us, and have hopefully acclimatised to the league and all that comes with it (including the lack of winter break).

Also, hopefully we'll have finally stopped letting the medical staff drink during working hours by then, and there'll be enough other able bodies that he can be rotated a bit as and when needed.

It seems that Bendtner's been on the rampage.......

Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner has been accused of threatening a taxi driver and allegedly going “berserk” on a drunken night out in Copenhagen on Tuesday night.

While his Gunners teammates were in action against European champions Bayern Munich in the Champions League, the striker reportedly “ran amok” in the Danish capital’s trendy Norrebro district, allegedly threatening the taxi driver before unbuttoning his trousers and rubbing against the side of the car.

The 26-year-old also reportedly whipped the taxi with his belt and told its driver, “I will f*** you” as well as calling him a “little bitch”.

The reports, carried this morning in Danish tabloid BT, reveals that the cab driver concerned called the police about the bizarre incident, and claimed:

“I have had drunk passengers in my car for 25 years and I have never seen anything like it.”

Bendtner’s spokeswoman Elisa Lykke declined to comment when approached by BT. The player had recently claimed that his reputation as a ''psychopath'' was harming his chances of finding a new club.
