Not taking anything for granted yet, especially after the Carling Cup final against Birmingham.

I do think though, that if Arsenal do win it, there will be some who only see that we beat Wigan and Hull/Sheff Utd rather than the rest of the teams we faced, i.e. Tottenham, Liverpool and Everton, its not exactly been an easy route to the Semi-Finals, aside from the match against Coventry (and I don't mean to sound disrespectful towards Coventry there)

playing those games at home gave you a major advantage.

Yeah, I wouldn't take anything for granted but there is absolutely no excuse to not win this and if we don't then Wenger and the players have to have a really long hard look at themselves

I sort of wanted it to go to a replay in the end today. I'm curious to see what happens when a team has like six games in hand at the end of the season

All set to lose to Hull in the final now lads.

Remember the League Cup Final in 2011? The players thought all they needed to do was turn up to collect their winners medal. The Wigan players will be giving everything against us and sometimes that's enough to beat the 'big boys'.

I hope the players give a professional performance at Wembley this time. I also hope Wenger doesn't fuck it up by resting players with one eye on the league like he's done in the past. I don't think I could take seeing another scandalous performance like we witnessed against Birmingham.

I don't think that Managers tend to rest players once you get this far in the cup. Wenger can be a bit weird though so who knows...

I think we'll know very precisely if we have any need to rest players by then, good or bad. I'd hope we're tootling along in 3rd and can concentrate on the cup, but there is no way it won't be a "rotated" team if we're fighting for 1st/4th.

A few years ago he rested players in the semi final against Chelsea so that they would be fresh for the Champions League quarter/semi final (can't remember which round) against Man United. We lost the semi final against Chelsea then lost against Man United 3 days later. We also lost the league match following the Champions League exit which essentially ruled us out of challenging for the Premiership title.

That was a shitty week.

I'm not sure how relevant all these tales of woe are from seasons past. This team is pretty different to previous ones in its efficiency against lesser opposition, even compared to 2012/13. I can't be arsed to check but I'd wager we have the best record in the league this season vs the mid-lower teams in the table.

That said, if anyone can mess it up, it's us.

Sanogo and by looking really shit when he made appearances. And that's coming from me - he never got anywhere near as good as he was before, a good four or five yards off the pace.

He'll be gone for good in the summer, regardless of whether we sign someone new.
