Pedro Le Grove is leading the twat brigade on twitter today, claiming with absolute certainty that Ramsey has been overplayed and was injured as a direct consequence.

Here's another one:

@DeanLDN22: Appearances this season (box 2 box midfielders): Ramsey 31. Ramires 26. Yaya Toure 24. Fernandinho 22. Henderson 22. #Overplayed

Firstly, fucking lol using Henderson as a comparison, when he's only playing in one competition. Secondly 'Appearances' means fuck all; the meaningful stat is Minutes played'. If you look at that, Ramsey is similar to Fernandinho and has played less than Yaya and Ramires.

Dicks.

Henderson has been playing pretty well for quite a while now to be fair.

But yes, sometimes these things just happen. Wenger has perhaps been guilty of overplaying people in the past (Wilshere and Cesc are the most obvious recent examples), but I don't think that argument holds water with Ramsey. Sometimes these things just happen.

It's also worth mentioning that Arsène held Cazorla, Walcott and Podolski back longer than he could have done, to make absolutely sure they were ok to play when returning from injury. Hardly the mark of a guy desperate to run players into the ground.

Tough 45. Lots of possession but only a couple of shots from distance to show for it and they had the best chance right at the end there. Sagna, Walcott, Wilshire and Cazorla all look good. I don't know why Giroud was booked after 1 foul when consistent fouling from Tiote and Dubuchy was ignored. Got a bit lucky with that Flamini tackle as well.

Podolski in the second half.

Another dog shit ref. Has let far too much go all game and seems to happy to let Newcastle players steam into challenges and let them go, not to mention the fouls off the ball.

Maybe we need to toughen up a bit -- the last few games we've been getting battered and nothing really going our way. If you can't beat 'em, join 'em etc... I liked our physicality against Chelsea last week when things got a bit heated.

And yes, lucky with Flamini as well as the header at the end.

Agree re: Podolski. Edit: I mean, keep Giroud on...

What the fuck was that last 10 minutes? We nursed that lead like we nicked a goal against someone we never hoped to beat and were clinging on for dear life. No composure at all. Should have kept possession, which we're good at, and punished them when they stretched themselves.

Tense and terrifying stuff made all the more horribly intense by this hangover. Fucking great victory, the lads put in some work and watching Rosicky closing the keeper and defenders down in the 90th minute was just wonderful.

That feels like a massive three points, dug out from what was potentially a very frustrating afternoon. Feels like we've had an inevitable (and understandable, given the schedule) dip the last month or so, but you can't fault the character shown so far & going into the new year we're still top & have a good run of games through January. The team leading at the turn of the year has gone on to win the title in the last four seasons.....

Haven't seen the game but if you're going to win the league, that's how you'll do it - beating the teams you should, whether it's a fluid attacking display or a scrappy 1-0, and getting the points on the board. You'd like to beat Chelsea and City etc (and of course you did beat Liverpool) but if you can avoid the banana skins that they all seem to be slipping on here and there - the Stokes, Palaces and Cardiffs etc - then you can do it.

Newcastle away wasn't going to be easy and following a different run of games or results I think you could have been happy with a draw. A win is always good, but following a bit of a bumpy December I think it's very good to come through a tricky fixture like that with the 3 points.

My fantasy team is a bit knackered if Ramsay's out til February though.

so far so pedestrian - and what the hell is going on when we have a FK on edge of penalty area and Sagna is allowed to take it - Arteta, Walcott, Cazorla should all hand their heads in shame - this isn't a playground where everybody gets a go

This is depressingly predictable. Quite why Wenger thought this would go any other way is beyond me. Podolski up front with no Özil behind him? Arteta-Flamini midfield? Nah mate.

Get Flamini off for Bendtner at HT before Podolski runs out of gas. Cardiff look shit but we're causing them no real problems at all.
