Anyway in other news, does anyone know wtf is going with the Ladies side? We seem to be shedding players left, right and centre. Bit weird.

Chelsea team is gonna be this I'd imagine:

Only question mark really is Cazorla or Rosicky on the left. Can't see any other deviation from that XI though.

I hope I'm wrong but I still think we're feeling our loss over Napoli. Shit like that always seems to mess with the team. I'm definitely worried about the Chelsea game. Hopefully though that fancy dress bash has got it out of their system and we can Beat them.

Yeah no chance now.

After the results today I think Mondays game is huge for us. Mourinho talking recently about playing for 1-0s but not wanting to now is bollocks. He'll definitely set out Chelsea to play like that against us. He knows how much losing this game will damage us so he'll go for parking the bus and hitting us on the break. I'd do it too mind.

Nah the ill-advised +£1 thing pissed Liverpool off no end, and they were already pretty set on not selling to a rival. At the time a lot of people thought that was amusing, but they've been proved dead right so far.

But yes, with a world class striker we'd be running away with it. I'm sure we'll try for someone in the summer but it's not like there's loads around. Suarez? He'll stay if they get top four and go abroad if not (I suspect there's a proper release clause in his new deal for foreign clubs). Diego Costa? His agent is Jorge Mendes and tbh he's never showed anything like his current form before so who's to say he's not a flash in the pan? Falcao will want out but we'll never pay his wages. Is he another Mendes client? He's persona non grata round Arsenal way. If he doesn't go to Madrid, there's no way Mourinho will stand by while we sign him. Dunno who else there is, but we'll see I guess.

I can't see us getting anyone in during the transfer window. Like Fox said there simply isn't many of them around, they're like gold dust.

My leftfield choice would be Michu. And not being cheap about it either, offer over the odds straight away to sugar the deal without fuss. I don't know what his current contract is though so maybe it's out of the question anyway. He would be a good fit for us.

IMO we want someone better than Giroud and Michu is pretty much on a similar level, albeit with different traits.

That said I don't think any top tier striker will be available in the summer (Cavani is another but I'm not sure he'll go anywhere and again, the money involved is ridiculous). Lewandowski is going to Bayern. Llorente is now finally playing well at Juve so will probably stay, and I'm not sure he's a great fit anyway.

Mandzukic maybe? Not significantly better than Giroud but will probably be available and won't cost a bomb. Similar type of player so the team could function the same way with either striker.

I guess the advantage someone like that has over a Suarez or Cavani is it doesn't relegate Giroud to Chamakh status where he's never getting a game and becomes shit then leaves.

I agree but I'm just playing the percentages. There ain't someone top tier available, simple as that. What we could do with is another striker to ease the burden off Giroud. Giroud and Michu would give us options and allow us to rotate. They also offer different abilities which I also like. Michu is good and likely to be even better playing with us. Plus we'd likely get Michu for a lot less than the daft prices the current world class strikers are going for. Giving us more money in the bank for later. We just need another striker to make us competative for the rest of the season. Without one City and Chelsea will do us over purely with the size of their squads. Tbh I'd even put Liverpool in that bracket currently because 'Suárez'.

Yeah but if Wenger decides he wants to go for a top striker in the summer, he's not going to sign a Michu or Benteke in January to tide us over, because then you've got one player too many. We're never going to play with two strikers so we don't want three on our books.

Giroud didn't get injured last season so there's nothing to say he definitely will this year. And we do have Bendtner as an option against weaker sides.

For me, tomorrows game is absolutely season definingly crucial. If we don't win it I can't see us taking the title either, it'll have too much impact. That'll make 1 point gained out of the possible 9, which is just not title winning form.

Tbh though I think we'll bottle it and get beat, I really hope I'm wrong though.. :( I'd love to beat that smug shit Mourinho.
