Looks like the same old Arsenal. CL loss, league loss, our season could go downhill rapidly here. We're just not big time, not when it really matters.

Jesus christ. We're top. We're in the CL knock-out stages. We were denied two goals today, against a superb Man City side.

Lets face it Man City away on their current form was always going to be very difficult, the final score says we got 3 when we actually got 5 whilst we were fatigued. Doesnt matter what we did, the "not serious contendors" types would only move the goal posts again.

Christ, what a ridiculous game.

Should have been closer than 6-3 and would have been but not for some terrible officiating. But they were clearly the better side; we were far too sloppy.

We should have had another goal and the officiating was dreadful but City could score when they wanted. If we had scored 5 they could have had 8.

We were horribly outclassed and the difference in depth between both squads is frightening.

Wenger made silly calls this week. Playing Giroud against Napoli when u aren't looking to attack was stupid. As was playing Gibbs then resting him today, we have had a hard week again. We went all out attack after going 3-1 down and we suffered for it as we lost any control in the midfield that we had. But let's be realistic, city were better yet the score line could've and should've been level at stages but due to poor officiating that wasn't to be. 9 days rest until Chelsea now which is a huge game. We will be fresh so can have no excuses on that front.

They've spent nearly £700m Steve, hardly surprising.

There are mitigating factors that contribute to it looking like a thumping (ridiculous fixture congestion; poor officiating). They're amazing going forward but we're better than that defensively. Flamini was a complete waste of time and there was uncharacteristic sloppiness from Per and Kos directly leading to two goals.

Still think we'll beat Chelsea.

Disappointing result but City away is the toughest fixture of the season & the scoreline doesn't tell the whole story of that game at all. We're still top by at least 2 points no matter what happens this weekend & if we beat Chelsea at home (which I'm quietly confident we will) then our tails will be up again. If we don't, then.....hmm, time to start worrying perhaps. Thank God for that nine days rest though. We desperately need it after a fucking horrible schedule recently.

On another note I'm beginning to get a little concerned about Wilshere. His over-dribbling & giving the ball away needlessly is becoming far too frequent for my liking. I'm hoping that he's doing a Ramsey & just finding his way back to form before he explodes into one of the best players in the country, but he was fucking awful today & not for the first time.

city deserved the win but the score is proof that neither team defended very well

monreal was truly awful, alays tucked inside and leaving huge gaps

words fail me too with milner feeling need to dive deep in injury time at 5-3, utter scum (and I'd say the same if it was one of ours)

chelsea huge as really does look like the wobble is on now unless we can get a good win in that game, draw not enough

So aside from the handball we weren't given, what were the officiating mistakes everyone is talking about? (edit: aside from some interesting foul calls).

I was watching on a pretty stuttery feed that dropped out a lot.

Disallowed goal from Bendtner:

And this is interesting, Per apparently having a go at özil for not applauding the away fans. Love the BFG, a Gooner through and through.

Amazed people think that isn't a penalty, as if Zabaleta doesn't have ample time to get his arm out of the way. He has so long to judge the flight of that ball that when it hits his arm, you can't conclude it's an unavoidable accident.

Also as if Pantilimon was saving that, come on. Bendtner one is fractionally off though, I agree.

I'm amazed you think it is. The laws are quite clear. The handling of the ball has to be deliberate. There is no way that it was deliberate, and referees are told that any deflection onto the hand, unless the hand/arm moves towards the ball, is not hand-ball.
