We are linked with Pato and Morata today, although Wenger has denied it. I do hope we bring a striker in January, even with Podolski back it's one area we are lacking in a little. Not going to lie, I have no idea if Morata is any good. I do remember that Pato was the next big thing at Milan, but then fell off the radar a bit and is now at Corinthians but is still only 24.

Pato is apparently out of shape and generally disinterested. I think it's a complete non starter.

As for Morata, he wouldn't play any more for us than he is for Madrid so I can't see him going for that either. I suspect we'll try and muddle through until the summer with Podolski as backup for Giroud.

The worrying thing is the games are relentless until early Jan and there's not really an opportunity to rest Giroud until after the Chelsea game at the earliest. I suppose the mitigating factor to his potential fatigue is that he's been a bit shite in the last few games anyway, but we haven't been too adversely affected.

Re: Pato - I'd prefer a striker that will hit the ground running, not one that needs to be coaxed back into form.

For me, Podolski will be Giroud's replacement because 1) our current midfield is on fire and 2) if he's been out for three months, he'll have less running to do at striker than in midfield - I don't think he'd have the fitness for it. Wasn't he a bit lazy when he was fit (I seem to remember some complaints about that)?

I'm probably wrong tho'.

Berbatov's agent saying today that he wants out of Fulham in January & would like to stay in the Premier League if possible. Hmmm..... Lazy at the best of times & I'm not sure that he'd fit our current style of play, but he could do a job until the summer & is a better option than TGSTEL, surely?

Ah it's Hull, what are they gonna do against one of the teams flying high in the Premier League, eh?

Oh.

That team is more than strong enough. If we can't beat Hull with that side then there's very serious questions to be asked about just how strong our squad really is beyond the first eleven.
