If Chamakh was marginally less shit we could have been in trouble today. There was one free header where he jumped ridiculously early otherwise it was an easy one. Two great saves from Szcz at 0-1 that won the match. Thought Monreal looked decent and, fuck me, Cazorla got kicked a lot out there.

Giroud worked hard but he was pretty pants. Cazorla was also rubbish. We missed Walcott again really.

Gnabry played well, and Ramsey was good after Arteta went off - his stamina levels are unreal. Monreal also did well after coming on.

I can see why Arteta got a red card because Chamakh conned the officials, but I don't think it was a foul at all. Thought Foy had a poor game overall tbh. At least he's only suspended for Chelsea in the Cup (which realistically is a game we're probably not going to win now, with neither Arteta nor Flamini available).

PS Michael Owen is a cunt

The only thing we can all be clear on is that BT Sport is absolutely terrible.

Nah. The premier league coverage isn't great but they are handling the European leagues a lot better than ESPN managed over the last few years. The Sunday night show with Richardson is quality.

It certainly wasn't as bad as Alan Hansen last night, trying to point out Arsenal's weak defending by using a clip from three seasons ago.

Cunt is soooooo bitter about 1989. Would be delicious if Arsenal won the title in his last ever MOTD.

his point was that as a club we are still making the same defensive mistakes we have done for years, as the red came from a breakaway where we'd left nobody back.

I thought it was one of his better bits of analysis as shows that the players may be different but the coaching could be the same

Assuming Walcott is still out, I think we need to play Gnabry against Liverpool. Playing two of Cazorla/Wilshere/Rosicky wide against a 3-5-2 is going make things very congested in the centre, so I think we'll need someone who can stretch the play and give us an outlet near the touchline. So annoying Theo aggravated his injury.

Injury news!

Gnabry - Has a knock which could keep him out of the Chelsea game tonight, though he's in the squad. Should be fine for Liverpool

Walcott - Could be back for Dortmund away next week, or at least the Man Utd game, barring any further hiccups

Flamini - Groin, should be back for Southampton but will miss Chelsea/Liverpool/Dortmund/Man Utd

Podolski - Back in light training, could target a spot on the bench for Man Utd on November 10th, but more likely he'll be available for Southampton

Sanogo - All gone a bit quiet. Possibly dead

Ox - Still a few weeks away

I feel sorry for Bendtner. I'm not sure why.

I find him a thoroughly loathsome individual and the sooner his contract is up the better.

Not his fault we lost tonight, Chelsea have a far better squad. And giving up sloppy goals makes the job almost impossible. It happened against Dortmund and it happened tonight.

The only way we'll win anything, cups or leagues, is if we beat the "big teams" again. We haven't done so for 8 years and, on all evidence so far, we're not going to this season*.

Not sure if it's the personnel or the coaching but we always give goals away in these games (see: the goals mentioned above and Vermaelen against United last season). I'm not completely writing off our chances but it would be good if everybody started lowering their expectations now.

EDIT: *I should stress that we were not outplayed in this or the Dortmund game; I mean the silly mistakes are still there and they're still completely killing our chances of winning
