Lloris has looked shit every time I've seen him, for what it's worth.

Moutinho has a release fee, so they only had to meet that. He'll be a great premiership player, but he's not going to replace Modric or Van der Vaart...Let alone both.

Don't forget they've also signed Sigurdsson and Dembele.

True...And they might be great, but they're still Arsenal-esque potential to me. Especially compared to the players that went out.

If it all slots together they'll be in a good shape but I think it's a fairly tough task for a new manager.

We are all a bit pissed for the same reason, this happens every year! We are only two signings away from looking like the real deal to me. But as it stands if one of our midfielders or strikers gets injured for long we are fucked! EDIT: twitter is going mad with rumours about cabaye to arsenal for 10mil, I'd love that!

Wenger is ready. Waiting. He has seen the guy he needs, and he is making a move. That's right. Boots are about to reduce their sandwiches and the guy with the "Reduced" stickers has come out from behind the counter. Wenger is hovering, waiting for the Hoisin Duck Wrap that he has had his eye on to go down to £1.40. Boom. DEAL DONE!

Cabaye and Dempsey, I'd fucking love that. Chamakh and/or Arshavin can surely be used to sweeten those deals even if we don't apply any monetary value to them.

I can't see it happening. Dempsey turns 30 in March which would dissuade Arsene a little, and I think Liverpool will definitely offer him more money. Cabaye would be at least £15m you'd think.

That's not actually massively ridiculous. Shenhua are rapidly heading towards a Malaga-esque mess.

Yes but he's clearly only after a pay day at this point, otherwise he wouldn't be there. He's not going to sully his Chelsea legacy by coming to Arsenal for £90k a week or something. If he leaves China he'll just go to some club in Dubai, or Anzhi or some club like that.

Right fuck this, what are we thinking for Sunday?

I'd expect Kos to come into the side in place of Mertesacker, as Liverpool's front three are going to be very nippy and mobile. Other than that I suspect we might be unchanged, other than perhaps Theo coming in for Gervinho. Chesney will obviously play if he's fit enough.

Szczesny; Jenkinson, Koscielny, Vermaelen, Gibbs; Arteta, Diaby, Cazorla; Walcott, Giroud, Podolski

Subs: Mannone, Mertesacker, Djourou, Santos, Ramsey, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Gervinho

Something like that anyway.

This all started off so well, got our business done proper early...................but then RVP fucked off to Utd & then Song left. We still had time to sort things out and it seemed we had a few deals in the pipeline anyway. Now, with around 7 hours left nothing has happened. Either everything is being kept very quiet (yeah right) or nothing is actually happening.

Then again, we could have a plan and announce a few last minute signings (just like last year)

I am in agreement with Wenger that we should only sign special and world class talent. However with a budget surplus of £3 million this summer you'd think that we could afford to bring in a someone a Llorente or M'villa to replace Van Persie and Song. With the squad we have we'll get 3rd/4th again but with a couple of marquee signings (or maybe retaining Van Persie and Song) we could of pushed for the league this year or done very well in Europe.

Should be a good game against Liverpool, I think we'll score at least. They are kind of our bogey team at Anfield though, so a draw would be a good result (not a 0-0 though!).

Park and Bentner loan fees are about £2.5m apparently so we are closer to £6m in profit I think. Perhaps we should replace the trophies and years going round the upper tier in the stadium with our annual profit figures.

I don't think Llorente and certainly M'Vila are world class, but I appreciate there's no clear definition of what that constitutes. They're certainly players who could improve our squad though.

Shame it looks like both are staying put.
