I think that's about as good as you could design, really. No ridiculously long journeys, no massively form teams. Obviously they're all decent teams, but if they're in the group stage they've got to be pretty good, but I think we need to be winning that group.

Well Park and Bendtner's loan moves are both about to go through apparently (both having medicals with Celta Vigo and Juve, respectively) so if we are going to do something, anything, it might happen...soon.

Right? Please.

Also according to the Italian media super Nick has asked for Del Piero's number 10.

We need two players really, don't we? Essien on loan is the only thing in the rumour mill, and I can't see that happening. Chelsea are already lacking cover for deep midfielders so why would they get rid of him? Plus he's broken enough as it is, he doesn't need to be infected with Arsenalitis as well.

Apparently the Park to Celta Vigo deal is only a loan, and we're still paying most of his wages. Baffling.

It looks like another disappointing summer to me. I'm really happy with the three signings but with the sales of RVP and Song we need to sign another few players. Going by what wenger has said we won't really sign anyone and will have a positive net spend again! Frustrating really.

Maybe but this (and by that I mean summer dealings) means we are very much in a fight for fourth, with them and the rest. It was probably always going to be this way but after the way the summer started I had a small glimmer of hope things might be different this year. Oh well.

It is kinda hard to argue that 4th is the limit of the club's ambitions when they do stuff like this. Makes it even more weird/amazing that Wenger has stuck around for so long and taken all the flak, really.

Still it's not over yet, right? Right?!

It's so frustrating. We need two more players in. I don't think it's much to ask really. We needed to strengthen the squad but it's near enough the same in terms of bodies. All the deadwood is still there or going on loan as no other club is stupid enough to pay them the wages we gave them!

What makes this so frustrating is that even with RVP & Song leaving we seem a couple of signings away from taking the team/squad a step forward but seem reluctant to take that final plunge.

Something like Tiote, M'Villa, Dembele, another striker maybe? Dempsey even? Surely 1 or 2 of these would add something.

Well Dembele has gone to Spurs. We're seemingly not interested in M'Vila, and it looks like Man City are now sniffing around him. Tiote is decent but if Newcastle don't want to sell at a reasonable price, what can you do?

7mil dempsey, I'd sign him and a tiote, cabaye..

That's what I'd like to see.

Tiote is decent but if Newcastle don't want to sell at a reasonable price, what can you do?

Pay the market rate? Just buy him! Really, him or Cabaye wouldn't be £30m. It's not like we haven't got the money.

I didn't mean now for Dembele of course, but he would have been a good signing. Surely £15million or so for Tiote isn't out of the question & a little more could get us M'Villa?

Is Dempsey not worth a punt at around 8 or 9 million?

Like I originally said though, same old story as ever, we seem just a couple of decent signings away from moving up a level.

The problem is apparently Newcastle were apparently after something more like £25m for either of those two. Apparently.

Hugo Lloris isn't any good right? Levy is chucking it about like a drunk at the bar. Fee agreed for him too for them.
