Funny rumours on twitter right now.

Can you imagine our midfield if Cesc came back though? Amaze.

EDIT: And apparently Walcott's rejected a new contract offer, which is basically the end of him then. Man City are interested (obviously), I wonder if they'd swap Dzeko for him.

We all know that's nonsense, but there's serious rumours now that Theo has rejected a contract extension. Even though I think we could definitely upgrade on him, it's too late in the day to let him leave. The problem is we then risk him leaving on a free. Eventful until the very end with us.

Sell them, sell them all. I really don't care anymore. Fuck them all.

I agree, sell everyone, bunch of cu*ts, the lot of them.

Apparently we've offered him a 5 year contract on 75k per week, that's almost £20million not including bonuses, and it's not enough? I don't know what he's done to deserve that let alone more.

I hope AW sticks to this take it or leave it.

About time these footballer's had some sort of reality check.

It is a bit of a shame in a way because he could just go to City and easily pick up over £100k per week but sometimes it's nice if someone stands up to these players and says 'no I ain't paying you that'.

I would like a couple of players brought in though.

What a shitbird Walcott is. Don't you just hate the modern footballer? Utter twats, to a man.

A club of Arsenal's stature being held to ransom by someone as shit as Theo Walcott is beyond fucked up.

What would you do though? How much is down to the agents? I'd have thought they're going to come in and say "well they've offered 75k but you're worth more than that and I can get you more elsewhere, no problem, just don't worry about it and leave it to me" which must be pretty easy to accept. I know footballers could make their own choices if they wanted, but you can bet they're going to be "well advised to move" by someone who's going to get their 10-15% of the resulting fee. Arsenal have it right by not buckling and it's not like they're offering peanuts by any means, problem is the utterly stupid money some other clubs are offering in comparison. The entire footballing world needs a complete reality check.

We have often moaned in here about average players on long lucrative contracts so we now can't complain if the club are reluctant to pay Walcott (Jesus Walcott?) £100k a week for the next five years.

Without meaning to sound like a stuck record, the next time someone buys a ticket for a game tell me again that players should be paid more.

Get a load of these prices:

Yes definitely. I've seen people saying Walcott should get what he wants because he's loads better than *insert overpaid 'deadwood' player here*. But if the point is that those 'deadwood' players are vastly overpaid, you can't then use them as the point of reference for negotiating other people's contracts, otherwise the situation never ends.

Surely if Walcott can get a 25% pay rise somewhere else for the prime years of his career, he should take it?

More fool them for paying it, but you can hardly blame him.

I don't know. Going to Liverpool is a step out of the Champion's League, going to City is a step away from first team football. You'd think a first team regular in the Champion's League would be a better position to be in from a footballing point of view.

If it's all true (and it seems like it) I'd very much like for him to fuck off though, so I hope he doesn't read my post of logic.

When our business was Podolski, Giroud and Cazorla in, that looked pretty awesome. When it was Podolski, Giroud and Cazorla in and van Persie out, it still looked alright. If it's Podolski, Giroud and Cazorla in, van Persie, Song and Walcott out, it starts to look a bit suspect.

But if he stays at Arsenal, he is far more likely to get first team football and still be earning almost £4 million quid a year, I am sure that's enough for anyone.

You would think. But what about the extra £25k a week? These swimming pools are not gonna heat themselves, these sports cars are not going to buy themselves.

Never underestimate greed.

I'd find it fairly hard to leave if I was Theo. RVP was always going to walk straight into the first team wherever he went, Walcott is exceptionally lucky to be given as much playing time as he gets, frankly.
