I don't have so much problem with Song's forward forays; it's his wayward passing and cheap ceding of possession that drives me up the wall. He has a good eye for a clever pass and his execution is often excellent, but his decision making is poor and far too often he shuns the simple pass.

Wilshere, who has been with the Club since the age of nine, says that following in the footsteps of some former greats gives him extra motivation.

"It's such an honour for me,” he told Arsenal.com. “Getting the No 10 shirt again at the Club means so much to me as I wore it all through the youth teams at Arsenal.

“It has a special place for all attacking or creative players. I feel proud to wear it now after some real Club legends have worn it, such as Dennis Bergkamp."

Good work.

This has been something of a concern for me for a while. I am very happy we are addressing these key issues.

Giroud, Arteta and Vermaelen are a formidably handsome trio.

IMO that's what really hurts about Van Persie's departure; the aesthetics of the squad are undeniably diminished by his absence. The impact on the quality of the playing staff is a distant second.

The van Persie press conference on Sky makes him seem like a bit of a cunt, IMO. More references to not seeing eye to eye on Arsenal taking things forward, probably his wages. He's not angry at Arsenal :) . No-one's angry at him  . This is his biggest football challenge yet  . Various lies and smoke screens over the last couple of months, he hasn't come over very well at all in all of this.

I hope his spine falls out.

Giroud's a given, he's dreamy. Arteta, I guess - but that magnificent hair is carrying him. Vermaelen though? I'd say Song would be the third in that trio but he's likely off any minute. Walcott maybe - bit boyish, perhaps. Djourou's a fine looking chap come to think of it. Even Podolski gets in ahead of Vermaelen.

Fuck that noise. Verm has great bone structure, and the cold, icy eyes of someone dangerous. Podolski? He has a piggy nose, sorry.

This is definitely now the gayest thread on rllmuk.

edit: seems like Song has officially gone, according to Twitter. No word on the fee as yet.

Song? Fucking hell. He looks like a toilet brush with that hair.

Oh come now, he's not half bad.

I'm never quite sure if Vermaelen is alive or not - he has the complexion of a recovering crack head. His lips are always deathly pale. Not a good look.

Lee Dixon has also tweeted that Song is gone.

It's an interesting one, more so that RvP as you would have thought, despite not ever getting round to offering van Persie a new contract, we actually wanted him to stay but our hands were tied after his statement. Song has three years and was a first team regular. What has persuaded AW to take whatever has been bid? Bad attitude? Already said he isn't re-signing?

100% need a replacement, will not accept just making do with current squad.

My girlfriend says that Van Persie has a 'pointy, rat-like face' and 'definitely wouldn't', but she's willing to engage in relations with me so maybe take her standards with a pinch of salt. She gets all hot and bothered over Fabregas though so she does have some taste I suppose.
